Dear Detnet;
I've been writing this in my head for a week now and I still can't think of everything I'd like to say! I'll try to keep it short and sweet.
I think the date on my name is correct, so it's been a year since I plopped down here, a complete idiot, now a little wiser.
I wouldn't trade this experience for anything! After cruising many other forums, I've learned that this place is special, not because of me, but you, the community.
I'm going to limit the names mentioned for brevity... but where credit is due, it's due.
It never occurred to me that I would own any forums let alone one as prestigious as Detnet! I don't think I could find another forum like this if I tried...
In the long run I am pleased to see how receptive and warm you all have been with my pecadillos and outright errors... and I'm very pleased that Detnet has survived the loss of it's founder and creator, Jason/cr0bar.
I'm not pleased that so little new content has been added other than the posts, but since you're not getting paid, I don't mention it much.

When I first arrived, it was so electrifying! (yah yah whatever) Hey, when your name is on a site, it becomes ten times more interesting! I remember just sitting and looking at everything... and posting maybe a little much.
Jim created Detnet 3.0 and while he's not around as much as he used to, he *does add a certain edge.
There have been some posts and topics that have ashamed me -- and many more that I've been proud to read! Detnet really is a smart community.
I am astounded at the variety of members, from Merrill Lynch to NASA to college profs to students... amazing that we can all get along!
DL deserves special mention for his wisdom and generosity, once stepping down as Admin, and now letting the server bills slide when my business has been slow. Detnet wouldn't be the same without him.
I cringe to read some of my old posts and I still do sometimes. I love being able to FTP photos and media into the site and I hope you all get more used to this free service... (content content)
One word of opinion from meself is that no one has to Bastardize an entire movie; you can do scenes or highlights, etc. I've seen so many of you start and then crap out after a few pages -- I'd rather see you do highlights than never finish!!!
Many times people have started a Det Project and then never gotten back to me or DL about it... I've gotten used to it, but never gotten over it. If everyone finished what they started... ****w0w****
Yet Detnet is thriving; I know because I spend time going out and looking! I've come to realize that this is sort of a "boutique" forum, a unique place that can't be replicated.
