Vladimir Sorokin's 'Blue Lard'
NPR's Lawrence Sheets reports from Moscow on a controversy surrounding a novel written four years ago by Russian writer Vladimir Sorokin. The book, Blue Lard, is a phantasmagoric tale featuring graphic sex scenes, including a tryst between clones of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and Nikita Khruschev. A youth group that supports president Vladimir Putin has filed suit against Sorokin, charging him with disseminating pornography. Sorokin has filed a counter-suit. (5:15)

The kicker is someone is setting up an opera about this story. Help me here.

I think this is gay-clone-commissar-sex. Is there a better term for it?
One-word answers are a cop out.
This is so bizarre I'm not even offended by the idea of clones of Russian rulers having gay sex.
It's too strange. At first I thought it was a prank.
