Man, friday, 7 more days, and i'll be 21 and old enough to buy here. I always thought the 21 to drink law was pretty dumb, you can drive at 16 and do everything else but drink when you turn 18 it is a pain in the ass. As far as i see it, when i turned 18 i became of the age of consent wich meant i could drink, unfourtunatly stores don't see it that way.

What I don't get is that we are allowed to vote, allowed to be DRAFTED, but not allowed to drink. People say it's because high school seniors came to school drunk. SO? Suspend em' if they come intoxicated. Don't punish everyone, just because some people are dumb.

around here the only thing turning 21 does is makes it easier to get alcohol. i swear everyone in my school drinks so we find ways. and then when one of your friends turn 21 u don't have to find a buyer or look around for stores you know will sell to you.

This is what pisses me off... I'm 18, I'm legal where I live, I drink now and then... next year I go to Ontario for school, I am not legal there, but the other students will be because of grade 13 in Ontario... so I am underage, most of the other people won't be, and I won't be able to go to shows in bars, or go out with friends and stuff, and I will be pissed right off...I feel sorry for you people in the US with age 21 restrictions and stuff... I really think Cuba has it totally right: You can drink at 16 years, because you will PROBABLY not do too much irreparable damage to yourself... You can smoke at 18 years, because smoking is really a more important decision because in the long run, it can have a huge impact on your health, more so than even alcohol. You can drive at 21, because when you drive, you are not only putting your life in danger, but many other people's lives too. Where I live, it's 14 to drive (learners permit), 16 to drive solo, and 18 to drink and smoke. God, I can't imagine having to wait until 21. But now I am repeating myself... -FFox ------------------ ICQ: 436346 "A christian, an anarchist-slash-prostitute, figures out the true meaning of freedom. When you're 19 it's real easy to get anything you want (underage).... just get yourself a roommate that's over 21 and knows how to keep his mouth shut =)

Yeah, it's 14 to drive learners in Alberta, 16 to drive solo. A fake ID is a possibility, although I suppose I could always just get my brother to boot for me. He's 22, the only problem is that he lives in another part of the city, would take a while to get over there, but that's better than nothing I guess. Interesting idea about the taxation without representation. I've always thought it was just plain dumb that kids could be drafted before they could even give their vote for government... I know that in Canada, before I was 18, the only real "tax" I payed was EI (Employment Insurance), which was like a couple bucks per paycheck, nothing really that bad. I don't think you have to pay income taxes of any sort until you are making over a year, or something like that, and when I was working as a 16 and 17 year old, I wasn't making that much. -FFox
