It will be interesting to see what will happen to the market now. I mean, the radeon is a pretty impressive card, and was a big improvement over the rage fury maxx, so we could see some good competition here.
Matrox. You never know. Granted, they targetted the G450 at the business market, and from that standpoint it is attractive. Matrox has a somewhat longer product cycle, but their products command some respect.
Them people that make the powerVR chips are promising. the tile based rendering is quite inovative and as they provide the chips for the dreamcast they now have a steady stream of revenue, which will probably show itself in the R&D budget.
Other people, like IBM may decide to try and take a slice o' the pie. IBM has made some fair cards in the past, although targeted mainly at professionals, but they make some of the fastest server and workstation CPUs. They could probably do something not-too-dire for the consumer gfx card market.
I hear SGI have been having some financial problems recently. Maybe they will attempt to enter the consumer card market to earn a few bob.
