looking at these Battlefield Earth commercials made me wonder 'WTF!!!!!!'. Despite the fact that John Travolta says the movie isn't about scientology, I still think it is. Scientology HATES I mean absolutly DESPISES the 'net. Why the fuck are they advertising on it? Maybe they think if they advertise on the 'net people will go see the movie then convert to scientology then not use the 'net.

I had my duobts about the movie from the first i heard of it. It was a good book, but 1000+pages doesn't translate into a 2 hour movie very well.

Well I am pretty sure the movie is based on the first 300 pages of the book, it kinda leaves you with an open ending. He also said he is planning on creating at least two more movies to finish the book. He is dedicated to it and will finish it, no matter how well it does in the theatre. I personally didn't think it was all that bad, of course wouldn't pay ป to see it again, but I'd rent it to see it again .

ScruplaniS - I didn't think it was all that bad either. Granted, there were a ton of inconsistencies, but the action rocked.

hey guys have you seen the reviews for that movie? OMG I have never seen worse reviews for a movie in all my life lemme go get my newspaper... "Componded by a dated style, patched-together special effects and ludicrous dialouge, Battlefield Earth is a wholly miserable experience.
Really a shame, 'cuz from what I hear, its a really good book even if it does have a few scientology hints in it

I had a problem with the first action sequence, where they were running from the guy at the beginning in the mall. I just didn't like the style, slow and no music, what was that??... There's gotta be music

Battlefield Earth is the pits, the studios didn't want to make it - it was just Travolta who wanted to make. The books decent cause hubbard is damn fine writer but come on Scientology is just a cult for the rich with no thing better to do but glorify each other more

at a SF convention Hubbard stated that the easiest way to get rich quick was to make a screwball religion and get a bunch of suckers to give you money; a few years later he founds scientology. I think thats the real reason for its existance.

Actually I heard (this is probably just a myth) that scientology was founded on a drunken bet between Robert A. Heinlein and L. Ron Hubburd. Heinlein said that you couldn't just start a religion. Hubburt won.
