I just want to say that ads with Java applets fucking suck. Having to load Java cause of an ad I won't even click is stupid.

Especially since they're probably annoying as hell, such as that monkey one.

bad ads
1) pop-ups (1 that pops up once and ONLY once is acceptable but not appreciated and very unlikely to be clicked)
2) java using ones (java that doesn't add functionality to the site is less than worthless)
3) flash (same as java)
good ads
1) if you really really want your ads clicked, I went to this one website that automatically puts a very large blank space in the page until you click an ad.
2) un-obtrusive banners placed at the top of a page are also ok
3) seperate page with all the banners you want is also good (only if I don't HAVE to go to it, if I do I'll usually say fuck off to it)

Anymore?

Oh and that Monkey can DIE! DIE NOW!

Java applets should only be used for games (like on Yahoo) or a very few other exceptions. Very few.

Worse than that is ads that load popup windows or flash movies, fucking waste of time since I am even less likely to click on them.

BS! Are you saying it's ok to use that crappy menu applet in FrontPage 98 that makes gradients to the left and right of the text? You've all seen it, and you know you hate it.

IMO the easiest way to deal with stupid banner ads is to block them. for an easy to use program try www.adsubtract.com

Not if he's being payed on a 50c-per-click basis. I never click the banners, I hate them (especially this battlefield earth one, that movie looks like shit!). So, does that mean I'm stealing from him? If so, sorry, but I'm not clicking those lame ads ;P
