I took my driver's license test again this morning, and again I failed. Reason: too fast while going backwards.

I think that idea about getting it in the US might be not that bad after all...

Maybe, at least for when I took, "too fast" was when the guy next to me thought that I didn't have control of the vehicle.
He told me I was cornering quickly, but that still had control so was ok.

my sudjestion would be to go for your test elsewhere. i am not sure if u can do that in states, but usually in smaller towns instructors are more lenient. they will let u get away with more. at least that's true for canada, i now live in a small town i've seen people jumping curbs while taking right turns way too fast and still passing.

the license test here in NJ is a total joke. I was about a foot from the curb parking and the guy said "Good job. you passed." Not to mention when he said "Stay under 15 mph" and i did the whole course at 20. hm.

That's just a myth. Any place you go will have its share of idiotic drivers.

If you wanna see pathetic driving, go to Florida. There's nothing quite like being stuck behind a 124 year old lady wearing those enormous dark glasses going 10 miles an hour in a 35 zone with her left blinker on.
