What the hell is this? I walked through downtown for maybe 1 hour today, and there were at least 25 men looking at me as if I was a simple object, for their pleasure. Are men fixed on their view more than on their other senses, or is their brain switched off, or what? I'll admit I am maybe pretty, but I am not the kinda girl to make heads turn, and I do not look like someone cheap and easy to have. I hate men who see women as objects... treat women as objects... and won't let me have my peace. Especially if those men are over 50.

I think there have been threads about this already. Let me be the first to say that it's genetic, and even the most well-intentioned guy will find his eyes wandering. Any guy who claims otherwise is either lying (in order to get into your pants) or gay.

Of course, some guys are worse about this than others. . .same with women too.

Guy's Opinion:
If your cute I'm going to give you a couple extra glanes than i would your everyday citizen. But I wouldn't like gawk or stare. As for 50 year old men, thats just wrong, but oh well.

I'm not talking about "a couple extra glances". And I don't mind if a guy looks at me. I mind men looking at me as if they are gonna ask "how much are you?" next second. And I hate the fact that it's accepted by society if men regard women as objects, while a woman is usually not allowed to look at a man that way.

shit, i wish women would look at me that way!

and yes, we cant help it. seriously. ive tried, it just doesnt work. its like when you tell a little kid not to do something, theyre gonna do it even more than they woudl have if you hadnt of said anything. so i figure it works better to just not try.

I don't stare..
I do look a hell of a lot but I don't really stare. The down-side of being so quick-eyed is that you always look a bit furtive..

Anyway. The class "liney" inherits from the class "woman", which in turn inherits from the class "Locomotive object", which in turn inherits from "object".

Given that they've just seen you they don't know about the particulars of your functionality that are implemented in the less deep classes on your inheritance tree. All they know about you is that you're a woman, and therefore they will interface with you using the methods defined in the woman class.

Compared to such the methods of you that are called by people more familiar with your exact functionality (friends) these interactions with one of your base classes will always seem rudimentary and crude.

Hrm... are you sure there wasn't something on your face? One time there was a bunch of chicks looking at me. It was all good till I realized there was a peperoni on my chin! D'OH!

Oh, and I've always felt like personification came into this. For example: people sometimes say, "Ah... look at my dog. He's so tired... He say, 'HELLO! I'M TIRED!' AHHHHH..." Basically the person is taking their own emotions and placing them in a 3rd person view.

What I mean is, when a man looks at a sexy chick he's thinking, "Ah... look at that chick. She's so sexy... She says, 'HELLO! LET'S BANG-AROUND!' AHHHHH..." Of course we all know that women are complicated emotional beings and wouldn't just leap on us if we throw one good pick-up line at them... but that's how we IMAGINE it.

The same goes for women. LiNeY says that men don't want to be treated as objects, because she's personifying her own complicated feelings onto US! Of course we all know that if women treated us like objects, there would be no motivation to do ANYTHING in life. We'll simply bang-around 24/7 till we die.
