MEDIC "I'm sorry sir, but you just made an illegal left turn. Can I see your lisence please?"
CK "What?? You guys are the paramedics.. aren't cops the ones who are in charge of watching the roads?"
MEDIC "Well, blah blah blah (reason that we dont know)"
CK "... How much?"
MEDIC "๮, I believe... do you have any insurance papers on you at the moment?"
CK "?? no...."
MEDIC "跚 in total."
CK " ... .... "
MEDIC "Welcome to Pittsburgh :P"
CK " "

I didn't think paramedics could even write tickets. Talk about your bad luck.

I've been in court more for traffic BS more than I care to say, but every single time I see someone go up to the judge on a no proof of insurance charge, they show the judge that they actually DID have insurance at the time (just show the insurance card you get), and that they just didn't have their card when the cop busted 'em, the judge reduces the fine to 10 bucks.

This is in Cali, but i'm sure in PA the judge will be lenient IF you had insurance at the time, and you aren't wanted for regicide or something

good luck, and always fight the system!

If those [insert insult according to your taste here] people wanna fine you... well they should at least look at if it was your fault! You could not have that insurance informatin on you, as it was IN THE MAIL! And every person with more than a braincell should understand you cannot have anything on you that you do not have yet. I think judges are supposed to have more than one braincell, so a judge should understand you if you explain it slowly and clearly.

Fight for your right, you do NOT have to pay those 220 bucks!

I almost missed the part about the paddywagon. For a sec I thought you were serious about the ambulance.

Swindle of the year, I would have to say...

Save your breath. "It was in the mail" is not a valid excuse.

At least not in CA.

Okay, your laws are probably different from the laws in this country. But if "It was in the mail" is not a valid excuse... well, what would be a valid excuse then?

on closer inspection of the ticket, it's acually a ษ fine plus 10+30+27.50+1.50 in expenses, totaling ๮. I guess he didn't put the 赼 on there, which is a relief. Anyway, since I'm back in MD and not about to drive to Pittsburg again to argue about the ticket (spending almost as much in gas as i would save), how do I plead not guilty by mail? Or can I go to a MD court house?
