I need to reformat my master hard drive, but will I be able to access my media files on my slave drive when the format is complete? I installed the hard drive after I got the computer, so I was wondering if it would recognize it...

Please help me!

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or just blind, but incubus answered your question quite clearly.

no offensive, but if you don't know if your harddirves are even installed right, I don't think I'd be accepting help from you with my linux boxes, that I rarely have questions about anyways...

I'm sorry for not understanding your one-word post, and it's okay with me if you post again.  :D  And "editor", I don't need to be broken in unless you are talking about the new detnet, because I have been familiar with this site since January of last year and joined the forums in September.  And no, this isn't a flame so please don't get mad.  :p

edit: Oh yeah, the format worked great...thanks again ;)

Yes, it will work. And as long as you do not format the drive with all the music/movies/whatever on it, those will all still be there.

If you have installed a Promise card or something like that, you will have to reinstall the drivers for it after you reinstall your OS after you have formatted your main drive to get it to show up, but it is still going to be there.

The only way the data won't be there is if you format the drive it's on, and the only way the drive itself won't physically be there is if you unplug it.
