ROFLMAO... hehehehehe... .exe entertainment.

try holding down shift or ctrl when clicking on the link. One of those forces IE to save the file normally, and you'll get the usual dialog box.

Holding down shift in IE opens the link in a new window. You have to use the right-click menu to do a "Save As...".

A shift-click in Netscape (though it might be Ctrl) is what forces a "Save As...".

edit: And yeah, your associations are messed up.

shift-click.... d'oh.
the right-click thing only helps when the file download is direct. i hate those stupid redirectors.

it's alt-click or ctrl-click then. I don't have a download accelerator, so I can't try it to give you the exact key, but it's one of those. Every time I have to use someone else's computer & they have a d/l accelerator, I try different alt/shift/ctrl clicks until the regular IE download dialog comes up
