This seems like a REALLY simple thing... all I want to do is create an octagon then bevel it, I have numerous rendering packages on my hands (3DSMAX, MilkShape, Ray Dreams STUDIO, Bryce 4.0) I just for some really dumb reason can't figure this out.... Any help would be greatly apreciated.

In Bryce = Take an octagon, make it positive, then take another slightly smaller one,and make it negetive, and place over the top, then group them. that should make a bevel if it's a flattend octagon.

Otherwise, I have no bloody idea. I'll ask my tutor if you like>

Step 2. Put 3DSMAX, MilkShape, Ray Dreams STUDIO, Bryce 4.0 in box.

Step 3. Address box: L33T_h4x0r_d00d, Virginia Usa.

Step 4. Place in mailbox.

jesus, dont you people know ANYTHING?
go get photoshop, you llama!
its the imaging prgram of the l33t! didnt you know that?
make an octagon. then if you have xenofex or eyecandy (i forgot witch) run the outter bevel filter.
or, if you dont want to do that, make an octagon, copy it to a new channel and gaussian blur it a few times. go back to the layer window, select the octago, and run the lighting effects filter. select directional and play around with it. get what you want.
see, was that hard?
