Does anyone know where I can get a decent video player (avis)? I usually use Winblows Mdeia Player, but a few of the videos I've gotten lately look for a different codec, it won't find it, then will play sound with no picture. Any suggestions?

Bluntman & Chronic is the worst comic I ever read. Jay and Silent Bob are stupid characters. A couple of stoners who spout dumb-ass catch-phrases like a third rate 'Cheech and Chong' or 'Bill and Ted'. Fuck Jay and Silent Bob. Fuck them up their stupid asses.

They could be done using the latest DivX ;-) codec. www.divx.com to get it.

Well, I think that the divx codecs that are available for windows are pretty much all DirectShow.. I don't know any other media filter graph architectures that exist for windows, so I think you're pretty much stuck with one DirectShow player or another.

If the codec from divx.com doesn't work maybe try one of the http://projectmayo.com opendivx implementations ?

I've mentioned it before, but if you have a Hollywood Plus decoder card, DivXPlus will let you send the video from a DivX movie through its TV-out, which is very good quality.
