now running setup, and all is well...

Incubus, I'm with you that there is no reason to run out & upgrade if you've stayed current. I'm mostly excited about glibc 2, which has a lot of new cool stuff like threads etc. I've got libc2 to compile, but every time I've tried swapping out my library I wound up trashing the whole OS

I'm burning the Slackware Linux v.8 ISO as I write this. This release has a bunch of stuff that I was never able to successfully compile, including :

- glibc v.2 (featuring lightweight threads! w00tah!)

- XFree86 v.4

- KDE v.2.1

- Apache incl. PHP, mod_perl, and mod_ssl

I'll let you know how it goes...

I'm not too sure why everyone w00ts when a new version of a distro comes out ... cos, like, if you stay current and upgrade to new packages you want ... your old distro has all the stuff this new distro has

If you're truely l33t, you have to believe that BSD is superior to linux. Honestly.

If you're truely l33t, you have to double post. Honestly.
