going through the access logs for my webpage, i've noticed something about a webbrowser MSIE 6.0b... I understand the b to be beta, but I didn't know it's been cirqulating...

couple other questions - Win2k outputs NT 5.0, right? what the hell is DigExt (shows up in a few hits on Win98 boxes I think)? What does WinME output for it's OS data (or what should I looke for to see WinME visitors)?

oh yeah, this isn't some publicity stunt or anything, I'm just curious

yeah, I know some people who've been running the beta, I generally get this impression from them:

The interface is not changed a great deal from 5.
The beta has... personality..
I gathered that once they decided to un-install the beta (because of said personality) it continued to cause problems that they have since decided to re-install their OS.

I sorta get the impression it'd be wise to wait a bit, let various bugs be fixed before trying it..

i have it, i must say that it is a lot more stable than 5. it has some nice features, such as locking the toolbars so you don't accidentally drag them somewhere. if you don't have the bandwidth, don't bother. only thing i've noticed is that the detnet main page menu is kinda screwed. other than that, it works great, crashes a LOT less, and is rather quick at rendering stuff.

erm... I might just get shot by cr0bar for this, but I think the javascript on the front page is not perfect... I'm using opera 5, which has a *very* standards compliant javascript engine, and things like the navbar on the front page don't work.

*aside* man, dreamweaver rocks... it gets the javascript for just about everything right, and usable on a lot of computers...

<edit> oops... the other thing I meant to say is.. If you're using Outlook, you apparently want to avoid 6b like the plague.. it breaks things quite badly, and they don't come back right when you de-install it </edit>

<edit2> yeeesh... fingers not responding to brain... Sorry cr0...(for those who missed the original, I spelled it crowbar...)</edit>

IE 6 beta ate my system. And I'm running Win2K, which is usually impervious to that kind of stuff.

I'll stick with 5.5, thank you.
