okay, boys and girls... inspired by a tool putting his system config as his sig, I am proud to start the first "BIG DICK" contest in the geek forum.girls are welcome to participate.
the specs of my_dick are :
--- Core: ---
FIC SD11 : I hate FIC. Therefore I hate my motherboard. I fucked myself up the ass on this one... shoulda bought the Asus.
Athlon™ Classic : five hundred and fifty million cycles per second of pure processing power. AMD gave me this one for free because my business card makes me look like I deserve one.
384MB of PC133 SDRAM : If you have less that 256MB of RAM, I want you to take a pen and jab it repeatedly into your asshole. That is precisely how your machine feels about the memory situation.
13G IBM hard drive : 7200rpm! Zoom! I want the 30GB Deskstar.
300W SPI power supply with noise killer fan : why do people hook up worth of equipment to a cheap-ass power supply? I don't get it. Spend the extra thirty bucks and make your shit stable, you misers.
--- Multimedia: ---
Mitsumi 4X2x8 CD-RW : You can laugh at the brand, you can laugh at the slow speed, but it's still the best drive I've found for audio CD's. I back up a lot of those for my friends.
Pioneer 6x DVD : I can watch DVDs. That's pretty cool. See below.
Sound Blaster Live! Value : modded to have an SPDIF connection to DVD player, two quarter-inch mono inputs, and RCA SPDIF output.
Sony STR-DE445 Stereo Receiver : I bought it after Christmas. Oh, man, this thing is sweet. It has SPDIF digital input, with full Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS decoding.
Cambridge Soundworks bookshelf speakers : nice and buttery. They sound killer when I crank 'em up.
Roland D-5 synthesizer : my main music input device. One of the E's is broken and the top octave doesn't work. I hate it.
Korg Poly-800 synthesizer : this thing sounds so 80's I can't believe it. The interface is horrible, but I love the way it sounds.
Diamond Viper V770 : okay. This video card is wuss (16MB TNT2), but I don't really play games. A GeForce 2 is on the wishlist.
ViewSonic E771 : It's not the best, and not the worst. I worked on a 14" for so long, I'm just glad it's big.
--- Network: ---
1.5MBit DSL fed into a 100MBit switch in my housemate's room. 4 other machines, including 2 Linux boxes. Domain control by Samba.
--- Miscellany: ---
Logitech Internet Keyboard : it's a good keyboard, except for the fact that the left leg broke off. I have it propped up on two 16MB EDO SIMMs.
Microsoft Optical Mouse : if your mouse isn't optical, I feel really, really sorry for you.
Canon BJC-2000 : Never buy a Canon printer. They go through ink faster than I go through K-Y jelly.
Mustek 1200UB scanner : This is a nice little scanner. It runs off USB power (draw : 496mA), and uses red, green, and blue LEDs for illumination instead of a xenon tube. Scan quality is respectable. I probably wouldn't use it for commerical work.
Okay, that's mine, now let's see yours.
edit : this is the biggest post i've ever typed. i just wanted to say that. thank you.
