Ok, I just upgraded to office xp. but now, when i try to send mail, before it even has a chance to go through to the server, i get a mail in my inbox : quote:
The following recipient(s) could not be reached: 'email.me@webmail.co.za' on 2001/06/26 01:05 AM 550 5.7.1 <email.me@webmail.co.za>... Relaying denied
i know its not being denied by my mail server cos i got a crappy connection and these mails from "system administrator" get tossed into my inbox immediately after i press send/receive without having a chance to be sent to the server. i can receive mail fine, just can't manually send it. however, if i try to test the email settings in the accounts options box, it sends the test mail fine. i never had any problems like this before i upgraded to xp, could that be the problem, or am i just having a bad day? edit: or could it have something to do with the questionable source of my copy of xp? thanx This message has been edited by beuges on June 25, 2001 at 04:13 PM

i don't know too much about setting modems under linux, but i heard that sometimes a little kernel editing is required.

Are you sure you have your SMTP server set correctly? Most mail servers won't let you relay through them unless you're on the same network (i.e., are you using your ISPs SMTP server or some other server?).

outlook just stopped working for me awhile back... every message received had a blank subject, body, and sender field... lost a bunch of mail that way. reinstall. microshaft blows it every time... so far no problems with win2k, but we'll see.
