what do you do with those like 100 min mixes you got on a mp3 and want to burn it, can i split it on 2 cds? i think converting to wav and editing it into 2 parts is out of the question because of file size of the wav it would make..any suguestions?

is that posible? i mean converting it to .wav makes one big ass wave file, how would i convert only part of the mp3 to .wav's? plus id rather just have it made in to 2 long mp3s to burn, cause its a continuous mix, i dont want to fuck it up

I remember my old windows box had something on it that would rip part of an mp3 to wav, but I forgot what it was called. I remember getting it off www.download.com, though

I work around that sort of thing all the time. Your best bet is to do like I did, and get an MP3-CD player. They're very cheap now, and the best one out (the Rio Volt, in pretty much everyone's opinion) can be found for about 140 bucks from some etailers.

If you can't cough up the change for one of those (well worth it, IMHO) then you can always do like I do when I need my Oakenfold on a regular length music CD: chop it into pieces and fade the ends in and out! Iknow you don't like to hear it, but it's the easiest and best way to do it if you can't get your hands on one of the regular MP3 deals.

First got to www.sytrillium.com and download the demo of Cool Edit 2000.
Use it to import the mp3 (will take about 15 minutes, then manually cut it up into wavs (won't be very hard). Finally when you burn the CD, make sure that you do "CD At Once". That way there isn't spaces between tracks, but you can also skip forward and back.

ummm............
if u want to listen to the file in the stereo, then on the cd it will still be burned in the analog (.wav). so it will be same size as if u would burn it onto a cd
therefore converting it to wave and then burning will have same result as splitting mp3 and then burning it
CoolEdit 2000 is the best sound editing program out there
also an alternative would be to get an MP3-CD player (as mentioned above)
that way u can burn digital audio files to cds, that really saves lots of space
