Right now I'm sitting at work watching a blue bar go across the screen  ...I've been here since my day started at 6:30am  ...it is now 7:51pm with at least an hour to go on my current backup project.  This is an emergency server swap with a "just in case" manual backup.  My typical backup configuration is:
Images of all the servers after any change (ran at 11pm and stored on the local SAN)
SAN is redundant (obviously)
SAN snapshots that can restore a disk back to a certain point in time. (Works great if we get hit with a virus)
SAN writes criticale directories to DVD once a week (just for redundancy)
SAN is backed up over the WAN (differential) every night and written to tape.
Tapes are saved for 1-7 years depending on their origin.

That's work, at home it's:
Images of each workstation after a clean build or mod
Sepate drives for data only, no apps, no OS
All Data drive backups are incremental and written to external firewire drives. (no more missing data on dirty tapes)
Info stored on the OS drive (email, address book, bookmarks) are backed up onto the external drives.

I used to mirror the drives on my primary workstation, but I started striping it withought parity and write the differentials to the external drives for the performance boost.  I have since reverted to no RAID.

As you can tell, I hate tape.  I've tried to restore too many things that were not there even though the logs said they were.

Just currious on what measures everybody else goes through to say their data.

WinRAR and a burner.

Simple, but it works for my home systems.
