At least I thought I was until last week. Then I started getting slowdowns and long periods disconnected from the Comcast@home service. So I called them up to have a tech come out and figure out whats wrong. They came today and proceeded to inform me that the reason I was having problems was my TV Tuner was putting noise in the line. Gave me a high-filter for that, and left. It must have done something, because I tried downloading some stuff and was getting downloads in excess of 600KB/s, as opposed to the old 300-500 I was getting before. I even got a screenshot for those of you who don't believe it.
By the way, if you don't have that program, I can definitely recommend it. I found it on Tweakfiles.com last year.So if you are having problems with your cable connection, it might be as simple as interference from your TV or TV Tuner card. If I'd known it would be a problem, I would have had them put a second line in for the TV Tuner instead of doing a line splitter deal, but you live and learn.
And if you live in or near Philadelphia, I recommend cable over DSL for two reasons: it's cheaper and it's faster. Unless you live right next door to the Telephone Company in which case DSL might be a little faster, but not enough to warrant the extra บ/month. I have tried both so I do know what I am talking about.
