a query; i have stuff that is broken that i dont want to be broken. specifically i have a handspring visor that i lent to a friend who dropped it and cracked the lcd screen. the warranty is run out, and even if it weren't it would have cost ๠ to replace, and i dont wanna spend that much. anybody know a way to repair or replace this screen, or something else they'd like not to be broken?

Or demand that your friend replace it, since he was the one that broke it. If that doesn't work, there's always the threat of physical violence.

Take a friend to court just because he couldn't reimburse you for something he broke by accident? That sounds rather extreme. Don't you value your friends more than your electronics?

i'm not sure but if you can use a palm screen in a visor, the screens run for about 50 bucks on ebay. and if you can find a visor screen. its a simple matter to open the case and swap screens

Yeah, scarily enough this happened to my Palm IIIe 3 days ago ... how scary. Anyway I looked at the damage and there is no LCD leakage, just a screen crack. (well shattered, i stood on the fucker by accident).

I looked for a site and found one at : www.rosiepalmpilot.com - this place sells screens and links to others that do. Youre ok if its just screen shattering but if black stuff is leaking out it will cost you an arm and a leg unfortunately

75 bucks?? a little pricey for a bit of aluminum and foam padding. I could machine an aluminum case myself for less than 1/4 of that price.
I dont have(nor do i want) a palm anyway so it's a moot point
