The stars were amazing! you could see by the light of the moon when it was out and it was not even full. The best was the Thunderstorm on sunday night. We camp in a tent and had a t-storm pass right over us. It was the most intense thing i have ever experienced since artillery. Things were hitting so close that the flash and the bang hit at the same time!
Driving along the lakes was just peaceful. There are some very cool waterfalls in that area (pics will be posted soon of the trip).
Some of the people at the winerys were asses but most of them were very nice. Hence the 4+ cases of wine we came home with. Most of them had huge dogs that would just wander up to you and look to be pet. One place had a cat that had 8 toes per foot. Wish the camera had not died just before that.
If you get a chance to get up there, bring a credit card. the wine goes for 10-20 bucks a bottle but is worth every penny of it.
If you bring a tent make sure you have something like a screen house to keep the rain off so you dont have to live in the tent.
Chemical fire starters will start wet wood, bring a few.
Thermos makes a fan-fucking-tastic camp stove. Its 贶 but worth every penny. The guy who made this thing had to be a camper and makes my list of people i have to find and toss hookers through his window. (Wolfguard's highest honor for engineering)
Colman tents still rule! 2 big ass t-storms, a day of rain, and not one leak.
Once every thing is unpacked, cleaned, and put away ill post a wine list. Most of it will be dry reds and whites but all is good.
