I have a V6 3800 Series II engine in my monte carlo SS 2000. Does anyone know what I can do to boost horsepower and performance?

NO COOKIE.

Why would you trade sequetial fuel injection for a passive fuel delivery system?

3 words for you.
Centrifugal Super Charger.

You get the turbocharger style boost with out all the extra crap it takes to keep a turbo happy.

End result ~񘈨. You put it on and leave it alone. No maintenence. 50\% increase in power. More if you add an intercooler.

I'd call here first and then here.

Interestingly enough, the same holds true for prostitutes.

First thing you always do: Change the oil, replace the spark plugs/wires, do timing and compression checks, replace your belts, generally put your engine in top condition. After that is freeing up the airflow to your car (New intake filter, new intake, muffler, cat back system, downpipe, etc.). Not only does that help a stock engine, but it's required to go turbo, and it's pretty independent of the engine, in case you want to swap out the engine later. Though I wouldn't go all out on that unless you want to go all the way with your engine later. Then you can consider a turbo, also very varient on what you want the car to do. But you can get into that later, that's a really expensive upgrade from a stock car. After that, fuel injectors, fuel lines, modified ECU, redone intake/exsaust manifolds, redone cams. And more. I don't know if you were looking for like a magic bullet or something...

how fast you can go is a direct correllation to how much money you are willing to spend.

My advice to you is to sell it and buy a car that's designed with performance in mind. Modifying a car like that is a receipe for frustration and lots of wated time and money. Hardly anyone makes performance parts for it either.

You could buy a late model Supra twin-turbo, a Miata, a VW Corrado, an older M3, a Corvette, RX-7 or many many other cars for less than what you could sell the Montecarlo for. They would also be a lot better investment considering your goal, and a hell of a lot more fun to drive. But what exactly do you want out of the car?

The basic performance mods go like this:

2hp, ุ, K&N filter and/or intake. I like to make my own cold-air intake with dryer hose.
4hp, 趚, cat-back exhaust system
5hp, 贄?, performance chip (if available)
8hp, 赨, headers
cam, underdrive pulleys, intake p&p, bump compression up, etc etc there's a lot you can do, but intake and exhaust are what you need first

Not that anyone would read this, but. If you want to do simple modifications on your car i would start with a simple higher air intakes to the engine. Then i would probly have a custom ship made for higher performance and speed. but for the horsepower i would get a CD-ROM and up the HP after you put the ship in. but thats what I think....

As far as I've heard, the monty's and impalas have been using pretty much the same mount points for many many years. So, like, you could probably find an old ass turbo for some 1970's impala and throw it in there. Perhaps put a carb in it? I don't know. I know computers.
