I can't punt a ball. I can't throw a strike. I can't slam. I can't volley. I can't serve. I hate running. All I can really do is ski.

(not me, but a damn nice pic)

I'm picking my new sticks this week. Whistler/Blackcomb is definitely a possibility in the works. It's either there or Aspen. Right now it's looking like Colorado (I have a free place to stay a stone's throw from 3 lifts at the Highlands).

How about the rest of you? Anyone ski or board? Telemarkers? Alpine? Jibbers?

If not, feel free to support my claim that ski bunnies are the hottest "sports female" of any other sport. Chicks that ski drive me fucking batty:

Marry me, Karolina.

Oooh - one last thing. Ski camp. This kicks ass:

I havn't yet made the transition from skateboarding to snowboarding i imagine its ten times better, winter is well on its way so im sure ill be given the chance. I did make the transition from roller skating to ice skating.. never got much further than a double flip and many attempts at a double axle prolly shit that no one even knows what im talking about, ice skating for most is just an excuse to see huge wedgies im going to run along now.

I think rollerblading/ice skating is the closest you can get to skiing without actually getting up on the mountain. I really don't see the same connection between skating and snowboarding though (unless you're talking about the Sector9 longboard cruisers, etc).

If I were you I'd take up skiing.

Heh, I only went snowboarding once, but it was as fun as hell, and my brother rammed right into my lower back (sort of like.. the back half of a worn belt, that area) with his board when I fell... oh man.. good times, good times.

Funny, I've been meaning to start a ski/snowboard thread...now lets see how long it takes for the relevance meter to hit rock bottom.

Damn right! Cept I snowboard...I consider myself pretty damn good, although I need to work on tricks more...but as far as technique goes I'm pretty good. I've been boarding about 3 years now, and I ride a Burton Floater 155 (color black, not blue like in this pic:)

Looks like I'm gonna be riding at Summit at Snoqualmie, Crystal Mountain, or Baker this year; mostly Summit though because I have a season pass there and know the terrain and everything...

snowboarding is the greatest thing to do besides sport fucking, i suppose.. i'd give anything to move somewhere with mountains.. which most people consider crazy since i grew up 10 minutes away from the Gulkf Coast my entire life... but i've been snowboarding a few times, and i can't wait to go again.

I really want these skis:

Fat enough for off piste, short enough and twintip for the park...nice sidecut...too bad I can't spend my money on 'em. I need to buy a new box and some other shit. I want them BAD though. Meh, I'll probably settle for last year's BanditXX or Powairs.

Floater's a nice board though. How's it treating you P_D? My buddy took one to Park City/Canyons last year and loved it. Deep snow, rode like a charm.

BTW, how's are the mountains in Washington? Never been there...
