I read that phat chat-conversation between rs and kbreak.
WHAT DID DETONATE.NET "USED" TO BE ANYWAY?
Jeeez, you would think kbreak was makin phat profit from detnet or something by the way rs rants on about what detnet "used" to be and how he "would feel better if detnet was just dead".
I am, offended. Yes.
Please tell me what all the fuss is about.

It's a DetVet thing. You wouldn't understand...
Personally I don't think there is much of a difference at all, as far as the forums are concerned.
The only thing cr0 did, that I wish was done around here, is just stir things up every once in a while...
He never really did much, but he did enough to spark interest. Mainly rant.

PG pretty much left no blanks 
basically cr0 used to own a site he called detonate.net. it was all fun and stuff. that's old school DetNet. then after a few mishaps here and there and a few other things, a company hosting DetNet's closed down. at that point cr0 decided that he had enough and he sold the site on ebay. kevin, aka forumwhore, bought the site and kept the forums as is in attempt to preserve detnet. pretty much everything after that sale is new school detnet, or as some called it detonate2. a lot of things has changed from old school and new school, weather or not it changed for better or for worse is a question of personal opinion. whatever i left out is probably not important enough to mention or just slipped my mind.
that is as good of an explanation as i can give you. if others want they will fill in the blanks.

Detnet forums were always defined by the people in them. When the older detvets started going, and the newer crowd joined in, the forums changed accordingly.
In short, to all those who believe the forums are "bad" because they changed, listen up. I'm playing the world's tiniest violin for you. Can't you hear it?
The forums aren't "bad." If the forums were static, the members would get bored, and leave, and it would die. Fourms are (and ought to be) dynamic. Keep it fresh, yo.

Don't insult me. I've been lurkin around detnet for a few years now. Just cuz my POST# is low don't mean JACK SHIT. I have been in and out with a number or different identities.
I want real answers from ppl, not, "You wouldn't understand, its a detVet thing".
This is exactly the type of behavior that i think it BULLSHIT.
Is detnet open to the public or just a club for a bunch of geeky-nostalgic-wantabee-hackers????
If you don't have "time" to sit here and type me up a real answer than please don't bother to write anything at all.

All are welcome...Hell, I'm here...still. As long as you don't do anything...like delete posts....you should be fine.
detonate.net was a project by the guy that went by the name cr0bar. He posted geeky humor stuff on his site making fun of people and things...he ranted about stuff and put together the basterdizations...really slowly I might add, sometimes it was a week between new page...
the site had some hosting problems and that's about when I went away to join the military.....that's what I remember of "old skool" detnet. This new school crap just looks like a bunch of people in a forum..the new people are interesting, and so are the old people.
Post don't mean shit...I have a low post count...kind of.. but I'm not an idiot...I'm just lame....ah ha ha ha...thud.

Not jumping all over anyone actually.
Just requesting info. But when some one tells me "you won't understand" I do get a little pissed.
OK. Lemee rephrase.
I'm keen on the HISTORY of detnet.
What I don't understand is the way "detnet used to be".
What has changed?
Why is it "worse" than it used to be?
I don't want site/domain history exactly. I want to know why the elite here are so offended by nebie status. I want to know what rs was talking about. Like he was talking about ROME or some shit. What detnet "used" to be. The pure ideal.
(Im real close to Darth Liberus. Closer to him than my own brother even. For the past 13 yrs him and I have been out in the real-world (waking-life) starting shit and ending shit. He talks to me a lot about detnet. He talks, a lot. lol. Even HE can be a tad-bit elietist about detnet at times. But it seems to me that the majority of ppl here kick ass. Unfortunately, most ppl are AFRAID to post out of fear of being flamed to death by the likes of members like CATKNIGHT me thinks.
Liberus has told me about the history and the ppl involved. Sounds to me like a few guys with some cool ideas fortunate enough to find the time to put in GREAT effort.)
Now for the rest of us.
If you feel like you should "leave" detnet, and that you "leaving" detnet is actually gonna prove a point THINK AGAIN. THE JOKE'S ON YOU! BYE BYE.
