In the "show me yours and I'll show you mine" thread, I mentioned growing my hair out, and people said: "Go for it, you might not always have hair."
It's been awhile, and now it's managed to reach that can't-do-a-damn-thing-with-it stage. Anyone have ideas on how to get through that period? Beyond just jumping out of the shower, and throwing some gel in it, I'm clueless. It always ends up looking like the 2nd picture.
The goal is to grow it out long enough to pull back to the nape of my neck - kinda surferesque. If not that, then at least 4-5 inches on top, and kinda close shaven/tapered up the back and sides. Not really sure on a final look yet.
Anyhow, here they are. The first picture from the thread, and a recent one. Anyone have opinions, or suggestions so far? I'm 6'4", 165lbs... it might end up making me look even more wiry.

I get to that point every few months, due to laziness rather than intent. I have found fuck-all that you can do with it, and usually end up getting it cut since it impairs my vision. Gelled, if you ask me, looks like complete shit. If you find anything that looks good, I'll probably be tryin it out in another couple weeks.

Yes, gel does look like shit. It only seems useful to throw in while your hair is still wet. At least then it doesn't dry out and look all screwy, but instead gives it enough hold to stay out of your eyes for most of the day.

"longer but still growing"
Gawd I loved that one.
Answer?
Grow it long enough to do something with it.

It seems rather fitting, don't you think?

That picture is of the upper level of a parking complex. We were at Thunder Over Louisville, which is supposed to be the largest fireworks demonstration in North America. If you look really close, you can see one of the planes from the air show flying around in the background.

I thought it looked familar, I been to Thunder, but its been about 2 years, we usually get spots down on the river, across from the Galt House. I love Thunder, its like one of the best shows in KY.
