yeah so I'm sitting there working,  IN THE DETNET DESIGN AS IT WOULD HAPPEN, and my wholre hard drive died. If you want the account that I wrote just after it happen, it's right here in my web log. Anyway basically I am fucked until I get the data recovered, which costs...a lot. As luck would have it, I know someone with a clean room and all of that shit. But it's going to be a while.

Anyway...I know a lot of you will make suggestions, I'm just gonna say: the hard drive cycles fine, no wierd clicks. Nothing will recognize it though. I think the headers are bad or something. Regardless, I am sending its ass to data recovery. I need my 5 years of work back pronto.

So that's why I don't have you a pretty design yet.

Or maybe you could just bother to save backups every once in a while... duh.

Yeah, sorry... that sucks. I once had four WD harddrives go bad on me in one year... Ever since I've been pretty paranoid about always having a backup.

problem with HDD's is the people who make em decide its not worth the money making them reliable as they just end up goving out 5 year warrantys and what not. oh thats great you get a new drive but what the fuck do i do with all my lost work. somethign tells me they've missed the point.
