they only carry good stuff, and they turn around their shipping pretty quick. pricing is reasonable, and they use UPS so you can track it.

I got almost my entire computer from them. They're ranked pretty high on some lists too... that's how i found them, although I lost the lists.

on the topic of places to buy though, theres this awesome shop in anandale, VA, where if you buy a lot of stuff, the guy gives you mad discounts, like he just goes down the sheet and marks prices 5-10\% less than what he has marked. when i bought my p2, he took off about 20\%, which at the time was about 100 dollars, and his original price was already about 300 less then at microcenter....yeah

Ok, next question. What to get??? Cause so far I haven't been able to find anything matching what I'm looking for.

Normally I always stick with Intel processors, but I'm open to suggestions.

First off, I need a mobo. Needs to fit the following bill.
1 AGP 4x
6 PCI (either No ISA or one shared)
133+ FSB
No onboard sound or video
ATA 100 support + Raid would be nice
ATX Form factor
2 or more USB

Next up CPU... I want either a PIII 800-900, maybe an Athlon if you can convince me it's worth the price break. Or I've even been considering going for dual celeron 500-700's...

What do you think?

about the cpus...if i was going to get a single proc system right now i'd prolly go AMD, unless i was going to do some serious PIII overclocking. for the same $$, amd's are more powerful. the main tradeoff seems to be that they run hotter and consume more power.

I can play counterstrike for hours, the processor heats up to about 130 F.

I turn the game off, and with my GoldenOrb, it gets down under 100 F in well under a minute. No damage done. I could probably get it faster, but there's no apps out there that would increase significantly from a .05\% increase in power.

Definitely would recommend trying to find a DDR board. It should offer about a 20\% increase in memory performance after all is said and done. Don't cheap out on the memory either, as that's your major crutch in the system. I recommend the www.memory-man.com memory that I got. It's cheap, but VERY good memory.

Edit: I haven't checked in a while, so I don't know if memoryman has any DDR memory. Mine is SDR and it is killer.
