this might not be what you're looking for but korn's bass player does a lot of slap type stuff.

Check out DJ Logic's former band,
MMW (Madeski Martin & Wood). It's more of a blues band, but that guy on bass KICKS MAJOR ASS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! I recommend "Last Chance to Dance to Trace" which is basically a "hits" album.

Also check out Brooklyn Funk Essentials. They got a damn fine bass player too! Take the L Train to Brooklyn is a pretty good example of their work.

Enjoy!

Oops. I missed that. I also missed the "lots of sax" part too. Tower of Power. Not too sure about the slap part, but defonately is funk. Same for the Meters. But Stu Hamm kills it all. And I'm barely a bassist (although I have been playing for about 7 years...) I'm a drummer. But in any case, enjoy!

MMW is a good choice, aswell is Stu Hamm. You know the Peanuts cartoon? That music that always starts it off? Originally it was for piano, but Stu Hamm can play it on bass. Figure that one out.
