I have a court date this Thursday for speeding. According to the cop, I was going 56 in a 40. Bleh. I have a written letter from the vice principle/mayor of my town stating that I was comming home from school play practice when I was pulled over. Also, my mom knows people, and we're going to try and just get a fine, no points (would be 4 pts). Anyone have any advice, legal or otherwise? I CAN'T AFFORD THESE POINTS. Thanks in advance.

lol, they believed that?? ahaha....anyway, i have a court date pretty soon too. i can take some driver improvement class or something to get rid of the points though, so its all good. hahaha 63 in a 45.

"were you aware that you were going 63 in a 45?"
/me has shifty eyes
"uuhhh....no officer, i didnt realize that".

in reality, i was going as fast as i could so that i could make it to roys and back to school in time without being late. for those of you about to call me a reckless driver, there was no one around, and it was a straight, nearly flat road, and i didnt know there was a speed trap there, cause ive gone by 1000 times before, rarely speeding.

im gonna tell them (and this is kindof true) that i was going with the speed of traffic, and that all the other cars merged off onto 495. and i was going at the speed of traffic (about 55) and then all the other cars did merge off. but thats why i hit the gas .

And as far as keeping points off your license, do some research and find out if it works the same way where you are as it does here.

In Pennsylvania, if you overpay your fine, they send you a refund check. If you never cash that check, your financial transactions aren't complete, and they can't put points on your license.

And yes, I know that I have mentioned this before, but I think it does bear repeating.

If I go to court, do I have to pay the fine there, or can I still pay it later and overpay it.

I think it would be worth the effort to find that out.

haha wussies getting tickets for speedling like 10 mph over, then actually taking the trouble to go to court to not get points. be a man and pay the fine.

and sithiee, in case you are still complaining about insurance companies, thats why they charge men under 21 more.
