What the hell is the war room? And metric is good. I find it to be much simpler. Then again I've been living with metric all my life, Canada and Iran. Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 08 2001,04:26
it's a conservative radio show based in pittsburgh. quinn really does an excelent job of putting liberals to shame.

OK fuck first of all cos i have to type this out all again cos the page refreshed and i lost all my text!second ur a bunch of muppets for going on about the metric system as if u actually know how the uk works. we've used the imperial system for years in our society. it was legally switched a while back for scientific reasons which i use on top of using the imperial system (who the fuck here measures their dick in cm's). i find metric easier to use as measuring and conversions but i find that imperial much easier to judge things such as weight and size. what this is really about is how the EU is a fucknugget who keeps messing with the uk trying to make it more europe cos they think they have it right for everything, this is completly ignoring the fact that everything works different in the uk to europe (notice how i say uk seperate from europe? THERES A REASON!). cos those fucking foreign bastards try to take our freedom away and some twats in this countrey get sucked in by it. now i very much doubt he knew he was breaking the law and even if he did i would suspect tht 99.9999\% of the uk would see this law as similiar to the fact that drinking alcohol in a public house is illegal i.e pointless. EVERY market u go to u will see measurements in imperial. most supermarkets will have metric cos they have governing bodies that can oversee such things. this guy should not have to accept anything. this case shouldnt have even got to court! (and the NIH thing. fuck sake man englands invented shit loads of stuff that u use!) this whole thing is a disgrace to common sense ------------------ Posted by TheTaxMan on Sep. 08 2001,18:50
Hahaha...They're all communists in Europe. The EU is going to give we US folks the 'Blue Scare' or something. The truth is revealed!

metric = practical for scienceinches and pounds = practical in daily life (yeah that dick measurement in cm's was a great example DKB) EU = bullshit, errr sorry, BIG BULLSHIT. I hate 'em. ------------------ Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 08 2001,20:53

ok fair doos m8 about the NIH thing. but we invented concorde (dont get on my case about the french hotel thing that was 1 crash in the entire 25 history of the aircraft dont wanna think about the amount of times ur DC-10's have done the smackdown on themselves) i could list a million things that we invented that're a major part of society but its too late to do my jeremy clarkson impersination.------------------ Posted by TheTaxMan on Sep. 09 2001,00:19

We have accomplished a lot of wonderful things, but our priorities are all screwed up. On the bright side, it could be worse...we could be France! I can't wait to get out and see the world (except for France...I hate France :P). edit: icono, fix your f***ing sig, it's driving me nuts! As much as I hate to say this (born and bred American), metric does make a hell of a lot more sense. I have a college degree and I still get confused with inches, feet, yards, miles, and converting between. The U.S. probably should join the rest of the world, but I doubt that it'll happen. See the NIH clause (Not Invented Here). Damn stupid Americans... However, the law is the law, stupid though it may be. He knew that he was breaking it, and should therefore be prepared to accept the consequences. ------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 09 2001,19:54
erm we had newton you know that guy who invented science.Game,Set,Match ------------------ Posted by demonk on Sep. 09 2001,20:38
I don't think I would credit him with creating science. That'd be like crediting Christofer(sp?) Columbus with creating the New World. But Newton did create calculus. We can all thank him for that ------------------ Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 09 2001,20:47
calculus? [mumbled under breath] why i oughtta! [/mumbled under breath] *shakes fist in the air ------------------ Posted by demonk on Sep. 09 2001,21:28
I thought you'd like to hear that. ------------------ Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 09 2001,21:49
if i time machine were invented i would use it to go back in time and kil him but fuck me if you think about it the amount of time paradox's that'll cause ------------------ Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 09 2001,22:03
...but without calculus, we wouldn't have vectors, and triple integrals, and differential equations, and...other stuff that I need to graduate!come back calculus! come baaack! Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 09 2001,22:53
