I'm normally a pretty subdued guy, especially since I moved to Tampa and especially at work where I couldn't give a rat's left testicle what other people think of me.  I almost lost it completely today.  Why some poeple, namely one of my managers, have to place blame all the time I don't know.  IT seems that these same people are often grossly wrong about so much and yet they can't admit it.  If it hadn't been for one arriving customer, I don't think I would have stopped with the comment I did.

I hate my job.
I hate the useless community college I attendthat has a lower standard than my high school.

Since when did life become endless teedeum (sic)?  I can't remember the last time something good happened to me and it's starting to tick me off.

Don't sit around waiting for good stuff to happen.  Get a job you like and go to a better school.  Where's it written that life is supposed to be good on it's own?  You gotta make it good.  If that doesn't work then get yourself a 12 pack and drink until life seems better then it did when you started.  That may not be the best advice in the world, but I'm not a damn shrink.  Just don't work a job you hate until you hear voices and decide to look for a bell-tower somewhere  ...and if you do, aim for BIPED.

I agree with Wiley.  Don't let opportunity pass you by.  When you know that where you are is a dead end, stand up and walk.  If you've nothing to lose you've only everything to gain . . .

Goth chicks are a big turn off for me.  Can't say why really.  Maybe it's because I always think they are strung out on something and that they don't shave their legs.  But then again I'm very shallow  ...and very into hygene.
Man what a lack of food will do to you!!!  I'm damn near half asleep at my desk.  Maybe I should eat something here.

That lack of armpit shaving is a real thrill. Not.

There's something very screwed up about chicks with hairy armpits.

seems a little harsh to designate half the girls in mainland europe as very screwed up. there's a teensy-tinsy thing called personal choice you appear to have overlooked. don't get me wrong - i don't claim to understand it any more than you do...in fact it always makes me think of the plughole of the bath in my student flat, which is not a pleasant recollection, but do try and remember that not everyone in the world adheres to the models of female 'perfection' set down by vogue and other fashion mags in the late 60's and which have done more to screw up the post-feminist generation than divorce, drugs and BG put together.

oops. that turned into more of a rant than i intended. i'm nice honestly. i am available for childrens parties too. Marxist dialectic and the breakdown of the nation-state a speciality ;)

I still see something wrong with not practicing good hygeine.

I don't much like armpit hair on men, either, and think that they should shave it in the interest of cleanliness and deodorizing.

*&^% Men with *shaved* armpits?  Got one of those lurking by my bed just right now...

I was going to expound on shaving, but Kuru stole the show.

What else do men need to shave, Kuru?

Ack!  Japanese!

Their nuts. No, I'm not kidding. I don't like to get hair in my throat.

And their backs. Wearing a sweater with no shirt on? Ewww.

And um, if they're really hairy, their legs. Brush burn, not my thing.

And I like bare chests. So um, yeah.

MTV had a whole thing on Goth sex last night, did anybody catch it?  It was all about the piercing and the cutting/biting/bleeding and S&M.  The thing pretty much churned my stomach.  Now I'm far from a prude seeing how me and my friends will typically end up at Spanky's on a Friday night to hang with some porn stars, or end up at Club Rubber or Circus Disco on Saturdays for some nakedness  ...but why the hell would you want to get into blood play?  I mean, how pissed off at your parents do you gotta be before you want to mutilate yourself?  At no point during my sexual adventures have I ever (intentionally) left a permanent scar on myself of a partner.  I think Goth is just a cry for attention from the girls who never made the cheerleading squad.

Edit: I shave my nuts.  I'm supportive of my gf's wishes. Hell, she has her hair ripped out with wax for me.

Can anyone explain what the point on pubic hair is?

I mean, evolution and all, we lost most our body hair since we were apes, but for some reason there must've been some evolutionary need for hairy balls.

I can't imagine what.

Shaving backs might be a bit hard to do without assistance.

Every pubic hair is paired with a sweat gland. When you sweat, you also release pheremones. The pubic hair aids in the dispersion of pheremones (more surface area, quicker diffusion).

So the question becomes, why aren't folks with more pubes more sexy?

I generally don't include Britain in my definition of Europe, because all the limey's I know get pissed at me when I do... anyway it has nothing to do with one and other... but that's the point.

As far as European extremism... what do you want as an example of my knowledge? How the one Italian dude was assassinated by some supposedly long gone marxist group for instance? Or the what Slovenian government was it, that didn't want the three transvestitie's to represent them(Slovenia) at some European music thing?(okay so that's more intolerance...)

my country is in denial, what can i do? We're in the EU, the EEC, the Common Agricultural Policy and we signed the Maastricht Treaty. oh and we're connected to Europe by the continental shelf. we do however have a different armpit hair policy to the rest of europe, which is perhaps where the confusion has occured.

As far as European extremism...*snipped*
Right, the Red Brigades who are the most likely group responsible for the death of Biagi are, as you say, left-wing and are therefore unlikely to be terribly anti-semitic. They've been around since the 70's anyway and so hardly constitute a rise in European extremism. As for the Eurovision Song Contest...i don't think it's possible for me to over-state how ridiculously seriously the ESC is taken, particularly in 'new' European states. It's weird, frankly for something that is so stupidlytacky. If Slovenia (which, as an ex-commie state has quite a few more social problems than your average western country) doesn't want to send tranvestites to sing in it, then OK, that's not great, but if they were really all that extreme, there wouldn't be *any* transvestites in Slovenia.

I don't mean to go on, but sometimes, you guys perception's of Europe are hilarious. We're not *all* a bunch of communist, bomb-wielding anit-semites you know.

hmmm. have you actually read those articles properly? This is how the observe article concludes:

Quote
It is at this point that the charges of the broad scope of the new anti-Semitism should be rejected for what they are: an attempt to deflect criticism from the actions of an Israeli government by declaring criticism of Israel out of bounds and invoking Europe's last great taboo - the fear of being declared an anti-Semite. For while the phenomenon of anti-Jewish sentiment and attacks in some quarters of the Islamic community in Europe is to be deplored, so too must be the effort to co-opt it as an alibi for Israel's behaviour and to use it to silence opposition to its policies.

and the other one is an editorial by Tom Gross who works for...guess who? Conrad Black. the guy who the article you quoted accused of being:

Quote
at the forefront of the (unjustified) finger-pointing.

You are being conned. What Israel is doing currently is cynically and cold-bloodedly playing on the world's fear of being called anti-semitic. They are using the leeway that this grants them to commit terrible acts in the West Bank while the world looks on and goes 'oh, sorry would you mind awfully, sort of, not doing that please' which isn't going to bother israel a whole lot in it's current mood. They are using the sympathetic press to stifle the debate as no newspaper wants to appear anti-semitic. There is no 'rising tide of anti-semitism' in Europe. There have been an increased number of attacks on jews by arabs, which, whilst unforgivable, is to be expected given that israel have invaded the west bank. There is some skillful media manipulation going on to make ppl think that the two are one and the same and that anyone who critiscises israel might as well be wearing a swastika.
Posted by veistran on Apr. 10 2002,22:04
Like I said, read the replies... try this one
Quote
Peter Beaumont says it is unreasonable to equate criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism (it is) though he cites no one outside sections of the Israeli press that makes such a claim. He makes the equally unreasonable assertion that to draw attention to the undeniable escalation of anti-Semitism in Europe is 'an attempt to deflect criticism from the actions of the Israeli government', which adds insult to injury.

He dismisses all documentation of this escalation as coming from tainted sources, eg 'the ubiquitous Mr Conrad Black', rather than asking whether the information is accurate. Rational people judge the message without denigrating the messenger. As for anti-Semitism in France: rather than treating it as part of a private quarrel between Mr Sharon and President Chirac, Mr Beaumont and your readers could consult last Tuesday's Le Monde (not owned by Mr Black and no friend of Mr Sharon), which devoted its lead story and two pages to serious coverage of this topic.

If Mr Beaumont really wants to fight anti-Semitism 'wherever it is found', he should start with the currently most dangerous manifestations of it: holocaust denial, tales of ritual murder, and dissemination of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, now commonplace components of public discourse in much of the Middle East.

Anyway, the biggest problem is that too many people still connect all jews with Israel, agreed?
