I hate people who think that the entire world revolves around them and therefore don't have to use their blinkers because everyone else on the road is just looking out for them and only them. It happens every day! I'm driving on the freeway, when suddenly an idiot changes lanes and almosts hits me. Didn't even signal. If he had signaled I would have backed off and given him room to get in and avoided a posible acident. And also the morons who pace right next to you after entering the freeway and keep acting like they are going to change lanes and try to get inside those 5 feet between you and the car infront of you. BUT THEY DON'T SIGNAL!!! Many times I have backed off to let them in, and many times they just zoom on by like they never intended to change lanes. It's gotten to the point now that I don't let anyone in unless they signal. And I don't mean signal just as they start to change lanes. That was my rant. Any agreements/flames?

The only time I use my signal lights is when I am going to cut someone off, or make a left hand turn (When it's NOT a left hand turn only lane), or when I make a right hand turn into a parking lot (Only if there's someone following me). I mean, if there's a lot of room in traffic, why use the signal lights? I mean, it's not too bad for traffic up here in Edmonton, I imagine it's a lot worse down in the States..

So you are one of them!!!! I wonder how many accidents could have been avoided if the other person knew which direction the idiot was going. USE YOUR SIGNAL LIGHTS!!! Next time someone changes lanes or makes a turn without signaling I'm going to fucking ram my car up their ass till it fits!!!!!Sorry, just really hate people who feel it is alright to indanger other people because they are too lazy or stupid or both to reach over with their left hand and pull a little lever up or down. I signal 99\% of the time... if there are ANY cars behind me that I can see in my mirror, I will always signal. And even when you are in a left hand turning lane, it's a good idea to signal anyway. I've seen people do stuff like try to zoom out of a left hand turn only lane when the light turns green, and almost cause an accident. When your lights are on, everyone knows exactly where you are going to go, and that makes life a hell of a lot easier (and safer) for everyone around. I also can't fucking stand people on freeways/multilane highways who decide that the appropriate way to change a lane is to slowly drift over the dotted line without any kind of signal whatsoever. Yes, even if they "think" there is no one behind them. Have they ever considered the possibility that someone could be coming up behind them really fast, and wouldn't even see them until the last minute? People need to be more aware of everything going on around them (not just in front of them!) when driving, and using turn signals is an excellent way to let other drivers know exactly where you are headed. And traffic in Calgary sucks some serious ass during busy times, Immortal... Yeah, why not just always use your signal?It's not THAT hard, really. And it's a lot safer for everyone involved. Even if you feel it's safe not to signal other drivers think "Hey look at that asshole, he doesn't signal! Thinks he owns the goddamn road!" Thing that pisses me off are people that signal and change there mind! For example: I'm turning left and some asshole is driving towards me with his right signal on, then changes his mind and goes through the intersection. Safer for him to be inconvenienced then to do that. And those morons that drive along with their signal blinking for no reason...those ppl suck too.

i know what you mean. i admit, every once in a while, i forget, but then i feel really dumb afterwards. but what really gets on my nerves are people who dont use em, and think thats how theyre sposed to drive. like i was riding in the car with my sister, and i was telling her to go left, and she didnt say anything, and i kept telling her to turn left, and then she yells at me "i am fucking turning left" and then i explained that if she used her signals, i woulda known, and she says something about how i should shut up and learn how to drive (i am licensed). my dad also rarely signals, but i dont think he even knows it...

Firefox - I really couldn't say if it's almost as important up here, as I guess since I work 7:30am - 3:00pm I miss the brunt of the rush hour traffic. The way I see it, signalling let's the other driver know. But if it IS safe to change lanes, and the guy behind you is travelling at a constant speed, why signal (Unless you're slowing down of course)? constant is a word meant to be used in hindsight. as soon as you start moving over, he might speed up, and thusly, no ones speed can really be considered constant.

I just went up to MSU to start college. While driving there, my Dad didn't use signals, and we almost hit an ARMORED TRUCK. You know, for banks and stuff. Anyway, as Doc would have said: "They would rip through us like tinfoil, Marty!" (See BTTF 2)

seriously, how hard is it to move you fucking hand 2 inches to press a lever half an inch?? hawaii is the capital of signal non-use, and nobody seems to care! not using your signal is more dangerous than speeding. USE YOUR DAMN SIGNAL!!!

i drive for a living. 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. i think i should get hazardous duty pay. who hasn't told the morons with driver's licenses that you're supposed to use your turn signal to change freeway lanes? who didn't tell them that you're supposed to turn it OFF after you're done? i can deal with someone not using a turn signal, cutting in a foot in front of me, and then going SLOWER than i was originally going... that might only kill me. but it pisses me off to no end to be in the fast lane of the freeway while some chode in front of me is doin 35 mph with his left turn signal on for 20 miles while he talks on his cell phone. this is why i don't keep a gun in the glovebox. --- Posted by Wolfguard on Sep. 01 2000,10:36

I am an offender of not using my signals. I live in philly and all a signal tells a person is "this guy wants to change lanes, ill speed up so he cant". Well guess what, i through telegraphing every move i make on the road. I drive offencly(the best defence is a good what?) and i do drive like i own the road. Why? Because of all the fucknuggets out there that got there licences from a fucking bubble gum machine. The morons that do 40 in the passing lane(the left lane richard) The idiots that figure the other lane is moving faster till they get there. The jackasses that sit at a 4 way stop, wave you on, and start to go when you do and give you a dirty look. Not to mention again the people that see your signal and speed up so you cant change lanes. These people should not be alowed out of the house let alone behind the wheel of a carYes i drive like i own the road, its a fucking war with the fucknuggets every day and i dont plan on being nice. I hate people who dont signal.Wolfgaurd, that may be true, some asshole might cut you off because you signal- but lots of times, i let people in because they are signaling.
and how damn hard is it to remember that you were signaling and turn the @^$#@^@ thing off!?!?! it has a blinking light on your dash and makes a clicking noise! what do you people want, a big damn sign that says "turn your fucking signal off now assmunch"? and how about those screwballs who change lanes constantly without sgnaling, just to get 1 carlength ahead of you, but end up slowing EVERYONE down in the process, thereby causing more stupid fuckers to change lanes, thereby causeing more, etc. until you have gridlock for NO FUCKING REASON! And fuckers who cross the white lines!! i dont mean a single white line, which is shitty enough, but i mean the triangle of white lines like when you exit or enter a freeway, and the @^# behind you crosses the white triangle and drives next to you <without signaling> and wont let you enter?
