Thought I'd keep the X-Men discussion going since it's been so fruitful. For those of you who actually liked the movie and are interested in the development of the sequel, check out < Comics2Film.com > and < corona.bc.ca >. It looks as if Beast, Gambit and Nightcrawler will appear in the sequel (btw, the kid playing basketball was not meant to be Nightcrawler, and the guy sketching the picture was meant to be Colossus).

As for villains, it looks like Sentinels. Although there could be appearances by one or more of the following: Dark Phoenix, Arcade, or Proteus.

Okay. My work here is done.

if he was meant to be colossus, why didnt they credit him in the credits? they credited jubilee who had no lines, they even credited the person who was cerebros voice. if he was sposed to be colossus, then why didnt they credit him as such?

Beats me. You'll have to ask Bryan Singer about that one. I just know what I read from the interview.

Hey, I have a question for you X-Men fanatics... I never really read the comic books, so I was wondering what the deal with northern Alberta was... was Logan from that area in the comics too? Or did the movie just have him there to provide a geographical tie-in with the "super-duper secret military base" where he was operated on in the Canadian rockies? (Which, I am sure, will be featured in X-Men sequels)...

i just had a thought after seeing the movie for the third time. umm...i think this might be a sort of spoiler, so if you havent seen it, dont keep reading.....yeah. we all know theyve already contracted for 2 sequels, or if we didnt, we do now. and i remember someone complaining in the original thread how kelly was sposed to become pres and make sentinels...but he died. i noticed in the torch scene, when storm says "youre machine doesnt work, it kills people. sen. kelly is dead" or whateverer, that magneto responds with "are you sure you saw what you saw?" could this be a loophole that kelly isnt actually dead, and maybe turning into water is his mutant ability??...just a thought...

Possibly, but what kind of power is turning into water? He could be defeated by a sponge! It wouldn't even have to be an evil sponge. Seriously, I heard that they are trying to get away from the plotline of the comics, so some other guy could make the Sentinels. He may even be working on his own, not funded or sponsored by the government.

havent you seen hydroman from spidey? jesus, that dude kicked spideys ass all over long island. granted, he can be defeated by sand, but who carries around sand??
Posted by Sithiee on Aug. 02 2000,13:01
i dunno...i think itd be one of those forever locked in battle type things, like with the two dudes in dc vs marvel.

Speaking of which, isn't it kinda ironic that the Sandman can be defeated with water... hmmm...how would a battle between the two of them go?

It's late and I need a break...

Hydro vs. Sandman? That'd be great.

And just to add a relatively obscure comic reference, Machine Man.

Yes. Yes it is.

They're the Wonder Twins, and they will defeat evil with their completely retarded powers.

They're not from the actual Super Friends, they're more like the "Special" Super Friends.

And their damned monkey...Blip could kick his bitch ass!

Sandman and Hydro:
They'd go charging at one another and end up merging into Mudpieguy who has conflicting personalities.
