WTF is wrong w/ me now... Yesterday the lower part of my eyelid starts to twitch randomly. Now 24 hours later it's still going strong. FUCK, this is annoying as hell. It's not sleep, it's not stress, I don't know what is causing this useless tic, but it's driving me batty.------------------ quote: Posted by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on Nov. 07 2001,14:28
I used to get that when I spent 8-10 hours a day writing html, php, UT maps, etc... I found that if I took a break every hour to go outside and take a quick run it went away. You gotta focus on something else for a little while and get your heart rate up a little.------------------ Posted by veistran on Nov. 07 2001,15:01
I used to get a twitch like that in math class.

Yeah? Yeah? Yeah?Well engineering school gave me hives.
:P But they're gone finally. And I'm going to live. As long as I stay on my drugs. ------------------ Posted by Nikita on Nov. 07 2001,15:13
Speaking of hives, beer gives me hives ... I guess I'll just have to find some other way of "socializing" What engineering are you in kuru? Something that gives you major hives has got to be quite painful! This message has been edited by Nikita on November 08, 2001 at 10:14 AM Posted by kuru on Nov. 07 2001,15:19
Engineering school gave me hives. (OK so actually it was the Prednisone I was put on to cure the pneumonia I got because I refused to miss class and procrastinated my visit to the doctor for bronchitis for over a month. In some weird, round-about way, it was engineering school that caused the hives.)I'm a computer engineer. Now I teach programming. In fact, I'm teaching it right now. This job is ok. ------------------ Posted by veistran on Nov. 08 2001,03:38
heh, pnuemonia is no fun, when I got it from god knows what a couple years ago, I had this death wheeze thing going on everytime I breathed out, it was so goddamn disconcerting. And prednisone tastes like ass.

I spent a good decade taking that shit on a semi-regular basis for asthma. Lovely stuff...

quote: Oh shit! Last Friday I went to the doctor and found out I had bronchitis and I was like ok and the doctor gave me some medicine. I took the medicine for a day and a half and it didn't work with me and made me even sicker. The point being I stopped taking this medicine. It's now Thursday and I am feeling alot better, I do still have a cough and am kinda weak. Am I gonna get pnuemonia now??? Posted by veistran on Nov. 08 2001,04:27
Doesn't the literature they give with all medication say something to the affect of "If adverse effects occur while taking this medication dicontinue use and contact your doctor/phsycician"?

Pneumonia sucks big goats. It got me kicked out of the states as I screwed up my semester. I was on a student visa. You miss a semester and you lose the visa. You have to leave the country and reapply. Fun...So I left and didn't bother reapplying. I had walking pneumonia right after 1 1/2 weeks of bronchitis. I didn't even realise I had it. Went to the doctor. Thought I was done for. You tend to think the worst when a doctor says "Holy cow!" when he listens to your chest. Posted by ic0n0 on Nov. 08 2001,14:46

Nurse Nautilus says:TaxMan - Usually muscle twitches like that are a result of potassium or magnesium deficiencies, so take your vitamins and eat some fruits and veggies. Also, you should try giving your eyes a rest from the glare of the computer/TV and harsh artificial lighting. Dark-Angel99 - Did you call someone when you stopped taking the medication? If you're having problems with a medication and think you should stop taking a prescription, you should always contact your doctor or at least your pharmacist. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF THE MEDICATION IS AN ANTIBIOTIC! If you haven't yet, go ahead and do it. It's not unusual to see some improvement just with time, but you may need a new medication to completely get over it. BTW, as of today I really am qualified to write this as Nurse Nautilus cuz I was just hired for my first nursing job. Just working as a nurse's aide, since I haven't finished school and gotten my RN yet, but hey, it's a start. Oh yeah, and prednisone does taste like ass. I've been on it for 6 months now, and don't see stopping it any time in the near future. But I'm walking on my own again, when the docs said I wouldn't be, so I'm not complaining too much. The taste of ass is worth the ability to walk. Posted by Dark-Angel99 on Nov. 09 2001,01:33
quote: Yes I did call the pharmasist and she told me to stop taking the medicine and just go back to the doctor. I was going to go back but I haven't had the time. I have to work and my sister has a wedding tomorrow so I don't know what I am going to do. Posted by veistran on Nov. 09 2001,02:09
I found that taking it with a glass of OJ was the best way to mask the ass taste.
Posted by Vigilante on Nov. 09 2001,02:14
Does that work with the taste of genuine ass, too?
Posted by veistran on Nov. 09 2001,02:31
I haven't tried it, it's one thing to get the artificial taste of ass in your mouth in return for some medical benefit, and quite another to get the taste of ass in your mouth just to see what will mask it the best.

I get that eye twitch a lot, in addition to this weird twitch in a muscle near my left shoulder.
Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Nov. 17 2001,11:49
and what the hell is this damn twitch i always keep getting in my right hand! no matter what i try to do it just wont stop!------------------ Posted by Amygdala on Nov. 17 2001,13:19
My right tricep has been twiching for, like, a month now...non-stop.It all started when I was out riding my bike. When I came home I went to the underground parking door, and took out the key to the door. Now I remember hearing that they recently replaced the lock on the door (it's a complex, and the lock gets used fifty-plus times a day), and I went to put the key in. As soon as the key touched my are started shaking. I learned that the lock on the big door is an electric lock, and it triggers the door opening. Well, here I am, standing there, and my arm is shaking like nuts. Not just a little shake, either: my tricep started flexing over and over again. When I looked at it, I saw it moving around quite a lot...I was scared shitless... Now it won't stop ttwichiingg (hehe). --amygdala ------------------ Posted by Hellraiser on Nov. 17 2001,13:56
Talk about bad, my gluteus maximus started twitching after I sat through a lecture two years ago. It still twitches to this day, which gives me this "ants in the pants" kind of look, but at least it has kept me in shape. And my eyes twitch regularly too, but I've learned to control it. Its the twitching in my cheek that draws up the left side of my mouth into a snarl that I wish I could get over. Everyone I meet asks me if I'm planning to eat them or something. I started taking medication, some kind of muscle relaxant, but found that it gave me little purple dots all over my face and ass, so stopped taking them. The dots just got larger and haven't gone away, so now I'm seeing a dermatologist, who gave me something to clear up skin. What it actually ended up doing was removing all the subcutaneous elastic making my skin loose and baggy, but if I touch it it peels off. And to top it all off, I have a cold sore in my mouth that has been there since the seventh grade. by now its larger than my back teeth, and I'm afraid to eat M & M's for fear one will get lost in it. If you believed any of that, you're more gulible than I thought, I am in perfect health, not one complaint except my bad back. But seriously, anyone whos had pnemonia, I can sympathize because it is the worst feeling in the world. Other than having some body part cut off or something. I had a very light case of it once and thought I was gonna die because I was weak, my muscles ached all the time, and I couldn't take deep breaths without severe pain. Don't risk getting it, always see a doctor at the first signs of a serious illness. ------------------ Posted by porn_dealer on Nov. 18 2001,03:25
