You know.. ... ah fuck it. I saw these ads or whatever the hell they were at this bus stop the other day, I've actually seen them all over Toronto recently. They kept saying shit about "Final warning" and "New world order", and they had this site.. a site that's hosted for free on angelfire.< http://www.angelfire.com/on/3angels/ > Is the stupidest site I've visited in my entire life. It's a long read, it has some stupid articles.. I got really pissed reading about < how some criminal can go free >, and I laughed my ass off when I read- and I quote:
quote: And then some more when I read quote: ... AGH I'm really pissed off about this shit.. stupid fucking dumbasses that made this shit and the stupid fucking dumbasses that follow what these morons say just because it.. sounds... right. Ever realize how most christians are so full of themselves? I remember years ago I came across this t-shirt that reflected on what people of which religion say when shit happens / is about to happen. For christians it was "This shit will never happen to me.". That's the exact impression I got when I went to church a couple weeks ago. Ugh.. anyways forgive me because I can't say what's exactly on my mind and what I really think of that website, because I just read like 10 paragraphs into some article on it and I got really pissed at how stupid people have to be to follow such things. Even though I don't agree with christianity in general, I do find that the serious hard-core christian fellowship members here at psu are extremely nice and friendly (like ned flanders) and are just great company.

This is the same way a lot of people see |337_Hax0r_D00D and all of you other gear heads about cars. Everyone has there thing and for some people it's Jesus. With this comes the way you look at religion. As long as their not cramping it down your throat, I wouldn't take offense (just becasue they believe something different).------------------ quote: Posted by Hellraiser on Sep. 08 2001,06:13
I'm a christian and I find most hard-core christians have something seriously wrong with them: they lack the ability to think for themselves, they merely resort to "read the bible" or "pray" to take care of every situation that comes their way. That is such a fucked up way to live your life, even Jesus who they are pretending to follow didn't live his life that way, since he didn't have a bible, and rarely if ever prayed the way most christians do.Oh, and any christian who says "this isn't gonna happen to me" is inviting it to happen to them, cause God doesn't care whether you think something could happen to you or not, he's gonna throw shit into your life regardless. One of the reasons I hate churches and never go is that: A, there's some guy boring you to death with a sermon on something you don't care about, or condemning you using some misquoted piece of scripture that has been filtered through 2000 years of changing world views on religion. and B, everyone is soo fucking self-rightious, look at me, I didn't sin all week! Yeah right, even if you think your saved you're still as deep in the shit as anyone else on planet earth. On top of that, any site that uses construction orange as a background, and piss yellow for text is just plain evil and should not be allowed to exist. Well I won't say that, because I'm a free speech advocate, but certainly such a site should never be created in the first place, it is a sure sign of the deranged mental state of its creators. People who create such sites, regarldess of their content should immediately be commited, as they are a danger to themselves and society in general. ------------------ Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 08 2001,16:50
trsut in the lord, but lock your car. hardcore christians are twats cos the majority of people are twats. hardcore christians represent this percentage within christianity.unfortunately there will alwqays be stupid people. human race pisses me off ------------------ Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 08 2001,16:58
That is the most god-awful site I've ever seen in my life!Oddly, I actually agree with both CatKnight and TheTaxMan on this. I consider myself a christian (don't actually GO to church b/c I don't think it's necessary), but I do believe in God, Jesus, etc. I do not, however, force my beliefs and opinions on others. I'm more than happy to share them if someone asks, but I don't think you can change someone's mind about religion just by browbeating them. That's really missing the point anyway, isn't it? And JLb8 is right, too. There are whackos everywhere. Pick a group and it'll have it's annoying, overzealous, in-your-face, "I'm right, you're wrong" extremists. It's just life. And remember, on down the road, when you're talking about something that you're passionate about, YOU just may be that nut in someone else's eyes. ------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing Posted by Nikita on Sep. 08 2001,17:43
Yea, so nice that they get on my nerves or suspect that something is wrong with them/they have ulterior motives. And their replies are usually "just pray about it" or "go see what the Bible says" ... it's like they don't have a mind of their own anymore. Is their interest genuine or are they just trying to win some souls to score points for the afterlife? Oh oops past my bedtime ... brain functions ceasing ... *thud* Posted by Hellraiser on Sep. 09 2001,00:42
Hehe, I just read some of the articles on the site, it appears they are basically the text from Chick tracts, which everyone knows are the most biggoted, hatefull, extremist, and non-tolerant of any so-called christian literature, and thus not worth the paper they're printed on.Anyone who reads that shit and takes it seriously is about as insane as anyone who reads a horoscope and takes it seriously. Hey, check this one out: quote: Hows that again? Last time I checked, the word Christian meant nothing more than a follower of the teachings of Christ. Just as Buddhist means follower of the teachings of Buddha. This definition sounds more like an experiment in circular reasoning. Although I do somewhat agree with the idea of different paths to the same point, i.e., that being true to what you believe is the most important thing, not what religion (or lack thereof) you subscribe to... something to think about. You ask me for proof that God exists? I ask you for proof that he does not. As there is no definitive proof either way, lets just agree to disagree for now, and go our separate ways. Thats my philosphy on the existance of God. What does this have to do with anything? Nothing, its all related to an excess of caffiene in my system which is the fault of the four coffees, three mountain dews, and three energy drinks as well as two ounces of chocolate consumed by myself today. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at people because they take themselves way too seriously. God doesn't take things too seriously, I mean, consider the duck-billed platypus. ------------------ Posted by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on Sep. 09 2001,01:54
Has everyone here read "Inherit the Wind" or anything else on the scopes/monkey trial. I read the book in school, but now I see theres a movie. Worth the time invested. The book is here. < http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0553269151/qid=1000093427/sr=8-3/107-7945853-6891734 > Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 09 2001,02:22
Arent's Catholics (or as I like to say: Cathaholics) considered christians anyway?------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing Posted by JLb_8 on Sep. 09 2001,05:00
anyone in uk watching that programme "testing god"? science vs. religion pretty cool cos its not biased towards either ------------------ Posted by EvilGenius on Sep. 09 2001,06:49
i'm with hellraiser on this one... although i may claim christianity at times, i certainly do not deny my own hypocrisies... as for all the shit givin by chrstians to non christians to become christians and do christian things with christian people all of the damned christian time... is rather blown to bits.. everywhere you look there's some dumbass out on the road waving his hands screaming the end is near, which seriously discredits any chances of a real life changing decision by any person for christianity... if someone wants to know something about christianity just ask, i'm sure there's someone out there who can answer you honestly... if not them, ask me, i'll see what i can tell ya... but don't pay too much attention to all that shit thrown in your face... half those people don't know what the fuck their talking about anyway as you guys said.. whatever little faith they have is so fragile it can't be disrupted for fear of breaking it...

I guess my concept of God is kinda strange: I figure, if he/she created the universe which I believe, then all of space and time has to be inside him/her, since prior to creation (if there's any meaning to that term) there would have been nothing except God. Thus he/she probably wouldn't take creation too seriously, he/she knows the outcome already and there's nothing to surprise him/her about it.One reason I prefer the current scientific theories about the beginnings of the universe and its history to the biblical account of creation is that it makes the concept of God so much bigger: I mean, its a lot harder to fit 15 billion years of history of the universe than 6,000 years, and besides, we have pretty convincing evidence of the age of the universe. I also like to imagine a God powerful enough to create an entire universe from a spark like the big bang theory presents, and have from this one spark a near infinite (to the human mind) number and variety of worlds with possibly equally various forms of life, constantly changing and forming new creations through the system of orderly laws of nature formed in the creative spark. Its like the gift that keeps on giving, or rather the creation that keeps on creating. I also wonder sometimes why he/she would have any interest in us humans, but then if you had created a science project which had the ability to evolve, and eventually became self-aware and had questions about you and where it came from, you might take an interest in your creation. My views on God are ones I never try to force on anyone, since they are intenstly personal, and most people find them kind of crazy to begin with, and I am perfectly content to let anyone believe whatever they want to believe, because they have just as much chance of being right in their beliefs as I do in mine. Hmm, perhaps I should have posted this in a religion thread or philosphy thread. Oh well... ------------------ Posted by Wolfguard on Sep. 19 2001,14:59
