... starting to regret choosing engineering ... any major w/ engineering in the name is insane. I hate stoichiometry, chemical engineering sucks. Just fucking cancel all the damn units, but no, have to hold on to them b/c some other conversions need em. Just hit the damn convert button on the TI-85, but noooo, have to show work. Oh, great, some lines on the LCD are missing. Massive calculations ... the pain ... the pain ... 3 down, 2 more to go. Good bleeding orifice 'o pain, they can't expect me to know everything, can they?!!??!?!?!?!!??!?! AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!! I'm so tired. Unwired. Why don't they have easy majors like ... whoreing ... or pimping ... streetwalking ... or are they just cleverly disguised under another name ... Posted by incubus on Sep. 06 2001,06:28
Yes, it's called 'A-Level Geography'.

What year in Engineering are you? The first two years have the most tedious stuff, then you get to really focus on your chosen branch of Engineering. And if you really get frustrated, I've heard some other PSU people refer to engineering as "pre-business." ------------------ Posted by CatKnight on Sep. 06 2001,12:35

I feel your pain. I'm working on a technology master's. Last week in my telecommunications technology class we covered 2 semesters of electrical engineering in 3 hours.MY......BRAIN........HURT..... ------------------ quote: Never argue with and idiot...he may be doing the same thing Posted by Nikita on Sep. 06 2001,13:35
Yea, I'm grad school ... bio(medical) engineering. The big bad thing about this major is you have to know life sciences AND engineering ...When I was an undergrad I took the weedout life sci and engineering classes. I got stuck w/ the goddamn pre-meds in advanced physiology as well as the hardcore nutcases in engineering. (yes, sir! Up both ends please, sir! Thank you come again) Beldurin ... 2 semesters of EE in 3 hours. Either you're kidding me or damn, that sucks And yes, one of the people from my lab ran off to get his MBA after he got his M.S. I wish I could be like the ditzes out there who walk around with nothing but the tiniest of bags that's barely big enough to hold a tampon, whip a cell phone out of the bag and start talking in the most annoying quasi-supersonic voice imaginable ... My friends and I call them SpeechCom majors Posted by Observer on Sep. 06 2001,14:21
Then maybe you need a < Grad School Barbie > to cheer you up!------------------ Posted by Beldurin on Sep. 06 2001,14:39

I had seen the full text posted on a wall in one of the grad buildings. There was also a reference to Real World Skipper, who just got her Bachelor's degree and a real job. There was a warning not to leave Barbie and Skipper alone in the same room as Barbie's hands seemed to mysteriously fuse to Skipper's throat.edit: Guess I should read all the way through those links I post, eh? ------------------ This message has been edited by Observer on September 07, 2001 at 11:41 AM Posted by Greasemonk on Sep. 21 2001,22:34
Just think of all the $$$$$ you will be making. Ahh the life of a yuppie, drive a BMW SUV, goto high class drug parties, get invited to celebrity events, and hopefully dont end up like the dude in American Pyscho!!------------------ Posted by askheaves on Sep. 22 2001,02:33
quote: Ha ha, sucker :P I did 2 quarters (3 quarters in a year) of biomedical engineering in undergrad. I realized at the end of that a few things. One, I can't stand the sight of blood. Two, I am a hell of a lot better with computers than anything else on the planet. Three, I wanted to be able to get a good job after school. Four, I never really liked school to begin with. All meanness aside now, you're going to be kicking my ass on the salary scale in a few years anyways, and I'll be happy to repair your PC for you, ma'am. *hug* Edit: maybe I should clarify, since I don't even understand what I wrote. I tried BE, but had to do Computer Engineering for those reasons. It was understood at my school that about 1-2 people from that degree would be getting a job after school instead of going straight to grad work. That wasn't in the cards for me. So, again, *hug* This message has been edited by askheaves on September 22, 2001 at 09:35 PM Posted by masher on Sep. 22 2001,08:06
