why is it so gay. I want to be able to double click a word, whole ip address, or whole url, and have it highlighted without spaces on the end. I want to be able to manually highlight a group of words without it "intelligently" selecting the whole line. When I click one word and drag the mouse to the left, I want it to highlight stuff on the left, not everything else on the right. How the fuck did microsoft fuck this one up?

I agree, I can't stand it when It highlights words or numbers I don't want it to!

It's fine for me, you just have to be careful with your mouse.

Now, in Linux, you can just select text, switch windows, and hit the middle button. Now THAT is how it should be done.

the problem is that it won't let you just select characters one at a time. it likes to go by chunks or words. extremely annoying.

I've found that it's app-dependent. Most big MS apps do that, but smaller things like UltraEdit32 for text-editing don't do that.

It's because many of their customers (the ones that pay for the products) are old folks with bad eyes and hand coordination. They know they want to select a word, but they don't have the dexterity to be on the exact pixel (which, I don't know how at 640x480). 99.99\% of the time, the idea is to select that whole word, not 75\% of it or something. So, it was a user based decision geared toward eliminating more confusion... a lesser of two evils, if you will.

Hey solid, that's a virus... it's a fun one to get rid of. I can't remember the name of it, but it's one that likes to go across the network and infect every machine it can get to.

Bluntman & Chronic is the worst comic I ever read. Jay and Silent Bob are stupid characters. A couple of stoners who spout dumb-ass catch-phrases like a third rate 'Cheech and Chong' or 'Bill and Ted'. Fuck Jay and Silent Bob. Fuck them up their stupid asses.

Say what?
Solid is a virus? Is that what you're saying?
Anyways my handle isn't really based off that, it's from this stupid nickname I thought was cool in the past..

Hahaha
No, I meant the instance of Notepad running. It's a virus that opens up your computer like netbus. I'd get rid of it if you can.
