heh, i get all sorts of weirdos on ICQ, south american guys who hit on me, in portugese no less, even after i tell them that i'm a guy, straight, and i only speak english. I've got like 10 13-17 year old girls who just randomly add me, and then ask who the hell i am when i try to figure out who they are. I usually just laugh and ignore them, next time i'm home i'll have to do an official tally.

I think my personal favorite is "Jack" who requested my auth (denied) and still periodically messages me giving me weather reports in Canada. I am in SOUTHERN NEVADA.

And the occasional guy from Manila or wherever who wants to be pen pals. translated: Oooo...a GIRL.

I mostly get spammed on ICQ. I've taken to sending back the goatse.cx link, or the comp-geek thing now. I hope I get at least one of them sometime.

here's what I do.

Them: name, age, sex?
Me : Lucifer, imortal, yes please.
Them: No, I'm serious.
Me : oh ok
Donald duck, 25, yes please.
Them: Stop it, c'mon I just wanna know.
Me : Would you perfer I said my name was just Donald?
Them: Oh your name is Donald eh?
Me : no.
Them: C'mon!
Me : fine

etc, etc, etc

I have alot more fun with foreigeners especially if they don't speak english very well

i fucking hate random people on icq (and more frequently IM) that just randomly messag me with a/s/l.

oh yeah and ever since i updated my icq info with my school info (about nuclear eng) i have been getting msgs from people in IRAQ, IRAN, SAUDI ARABIA, LYBIA, AFGANISTAN, N. KOREA, PAKISTAN, RUSSIA, and FRANCE (!) asking about nuclear engineering. none of them outright asked me if i knew how to make a bomb, thank god.

Uhm, this might be a little obvious, but you guys do know you can turn off the 'available to chat' right? I mean - if you didn't want the attention why do you allow it to happen - or is it perhaps that you think you might actually meet someone even slightly stable by some random chance?

It's not the "Available for Chat". It's from people who search for people based on certain details in the user info, then just start messaging them.

i got assloads of random messages because of people who surfed the white pages looking for anyone female in my city...'hey baybay, wanna cayburrr?' ew.

hence i have now changed all of my icq information.
