Stupendous 'tardation!!You all know about the nice hot and humid temperatures rolling across this great nation, yea? 90+ degrees, and humidity on top of that ... Well anyways, I come home at 7:45p after running some errands and I see this note on my door: "We have changed your locks! Please come to the Community Center to pick up your new keys" I was thinking "okay, just a 1 minute walk, I can cut through the grass and walk through the shade most of the time - no biggie" Then I saw this sign on the door of the Center: "Center closes at 7pm today" So I'm standing there, getting somewhat aggravated thinking "well, bend me over and fuck me silly, NOW what?" So I drag my dehydrated ass over to the apartment of the person on duty, ring the doorbell, and ask for the guy ... and I get this: "who dat? me dunno, he nah heah" Evidently, he moved out. By then, I was fuming. Housing didn't give me ANY notice. I'm not asking for 48 hour notice, 24 hours would have been more than enough. Hell, email/call me that morning and I would have been about to work something out. But nOoOoOoOo, they change the locks w/o telling me or leaving it somewhere accessible and leave me out to sun-dry like a geriatric California raisin. Finally found someone to let me borrow their phone, call the university police, and explain my demise. They arrived, furious at Housing for doing something so stupid (and probably pissed that they had to walk in the heat w/ their nifty bulletproof vests <like I was gonna do anything to someone weighing 200+ lbs> ) and let me into my own apt. I still don't have a key. *sigh* showertime ... Posted by just_dave on Aug. 08 2001,01:07

Don't feel so bad. I used to work for Housing (as a Resident Assistant). Anycrap, they decided that I had to come back early from xmas break to be there to open the halls when the residents got back. No problem, I had a key to get in the main doors. Except they changed the locks for them over break. Moral: At least you weren't standing outside freezing your tatas off in the middle of a January blizzard with noone to call and nowhere to call from. ------------------ Posted by Jynx on Aug. 08 2001,16:25
