just now, my monitor made an exploding sound/noise, turned off, then came back on, but now the screen looks a lot redder (or missing most of the blue). the sound was similar to when a lightbulb explodes!actually it seems to be going back to normal now, but wtf was that? Hmmm... Sounds like the pixie that runs the blue electron gun slipped and hit the flyback transformer. It may start to stink in a few hours as it starts to rot. could of been a static build up in one of the guns that discharged due to a bad ground. ------------------ Posted by Rhydant on Aug. 05 2001,13:21

that's cool I can just throw it in the pile with the other 21" trinitrons being surplused because they aren't Y2k compliant.

If your monitor colors are acid-trippin', check the cable too. I thought my old monitor was fried because the colors bugged out, but it turned out that there was just a bent pin on the plug. Now whenever i rest my leg on the top of the case, the monitor goes nuts.

Does your monitor have a degaussing button/function? You might try that.------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on Aug. 08 2001,03:03
What, no #include statement, Beldurin?Check the colour temp as well. Having it too high (9000K) not only makes stuff redder, but it shortens your monitor life a good deal. Posted by Beldurin on Aug. 08 2001,03:19
