Topic: idiodic journalist and the morning show

there was this guy on the morning show this morning. he was a supposed journalist who devoted his life to proving that santa clause actually existed. he claimed that he had made several trips up to the northen territories, where natives told him legends about real flying reindeer. then he showed a fuzzy black and white picture of some flying reindeer in a crowd of em'. it was so rediculuous it looked like one of those really bad ufo pics. then he went on to describe how they use their antlers to create a wind vortex, and that is how they fly. he also described santa's 31 hour gift delivering schedule and how he travels at 650 miles per second to deliver everyone's presents. this guy even wrote a book about it. jesus christ how can some people devote their life to BULLSHIT and the spreading of IGNORANcE??  fuck man.oooh my hash browns are done...yummy

The journalistic stupidity isn't confined to the morning shows, take a look at ANY American news broadcast. I'm kind of curious as to if they have to go on some sort of a course to make themselves stupider?
Those of us in here that are Canadian know that the news doesn't have to be some huge dramatic, theatrical production. The nightly news can actually be an informative piece of journalism, not some freak-show race to see who can get their news chopper on the scene first.Now, I get both types of news, and the American version is of course, a hell of a lot funnier, but that is all I watch it for - to have a good laugh. ------------------

have you seen fox 5's "investigative team"? i hate them. they spew crap about how our area sucks(which i actually happen to like, i live in arlington, va), and its dumb too. like once they were complaining about saccarin or something, and you see all these people being like "oh, i could have died!!!" and then they said it was incrominating when the guy who was the head of the fda when it was passed shut the door to them. if fox 5 showed up at my door, id shut it too!...yeah...

Most of the time on american news they report all negative shit. Every night its always news about some idiot in D.C. shooting or raping someone. You think they would promote anything positive in the community, then again I guess they do need to get the warning out so people can get in their houses before the ghett0 muthafuckas start creeping around in their parents cars.

Yeah i live in northern Va. I remember back when AOL was getting overloaded and Fox 5 went around interviewing pissed off AOL users. People were acting like AOL was the last thing on the earth, Im like go out and do something get a fucking life!! They had this old guy on there and he was like, I tried to connect to AOL 20 times!! Im like uhhhh get a motherfucking life. The investigative team always busts people for stuff, like all the clubs with the X and ravers high all over the place. If people dont give a shit about their teenagers being on drugs, why are they even showing stuff like that?

I visited home (Twin Cities, MN) this past week and got to watch our favorite station, KARE 11... that's right, K-A-fucking-R-E. It's an NBC affiliate, but it's the most touchy-feely station in existance. The only ads that seem to play are for the '11 who KARE' winners who demonstrated exempilary community service and the 'Holiday Wish-Lists by KARE Staffers' that make me want to gag. It's a nice change of pace from watching the average Pizza Hut massacre like here in Tucson, but it's kind of wierd.

i can't even watch the news anymore, because it pisses me off too much to see how stupid the reporters are. and why is it that they have to go 'on location' for everything? they do a story about some transplant kid at children's hospital coming over from uganda or some shit like that, so they read the teleprompter from out in front of the hospital just as they would if they were in the damned studio. it's not like they even talk to the kid or his family. but no. channel 11 had to be on location. ------------------

I think it's really funny when they get reporters to go and get the story, then they have to sit outside wherever they are in the freezing cold, live, telling the story. Like, why the hell do you have to be outside? WTF. I like Peter Jennings though.  ------------------
