Why haven't I gone to bed yet!?Stupid! Posted by Jimi on Dec. 12 2001,11:35
Could be a mixture of many things, stress, worry, not being tired, red bull, pro plus, all of the above.Besides I find that I am more productive when I can't get to sleep because I try to pass the time. Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Dec. 12 2001,12:31

English class, grade 11: "One of the characteristics of the Hemingway Hero is that he/she cannot sleep at night." That was when I thought it got interesting. Btw, other characteristics of the Hemingway Hero: he drinks, swears and doesn't give a damn about society/"morals"/conventions. Could it be that we can't sleep because we're Hemingway Heros? no

Sleep?? What is sleep, I do not believe I get any at night. My teachers think that since I am an "enriched" student that I can handle more big projects at one time, they also think that school is my life and I have no other activities taking up my time. Sleep is a choice for people that are not in AP classes, and something an AP student wishes for. I would love to be able to go to sleep at for more then 20 mins while im in a car riding to school.

I used to have horrible insomnia until I spent 3 months working 60-70 hours a week. Ever since then I've been able to fall asleep anytime, anywhere.See, it's all in your perception of sleep... if you look at it as something that gets in the way of completing other tasks, then you're *asking* for insomnia. If you look at it as a wonderful, natural, human need, then you'll usually be able to pass out whenever you want. Those 60-70 hour workweeks changed my mind... at some point I decided "getting enough sleep" took a higher priority than my job, and I've been snoozing well ever since. Pro plus is super crazy funky when taken in the amount of 4, not three not five but four is the number of pro plus to take when you are really tired.Yeah so wait till you are nearly asleep then take four, go then straight to bed and your body sleeps but your mind stays awake or something like that, anyway I usually have the most messed up dreams imaginable. Wanna dream?Take a Melatonin and get into bed with a book. The moment you do one drowsy type thing, like your eyes wander off the page, turn off the light. You'll have some very vivid dreams but you should sleep. btw, don't eat for at least an hour before naptime. Posted by askheaves on Jan. 18 2002,06:33
I don't like going to sleep because it seems like I'm giving in... it's like, there's very few things that I get to win, at least I don't have to give up on 'My Time'... the time between after work and going to work the next day. The more of that time i get, the better. It's like when I drive, I feel like I'm playing Pole Position and getting 50 points for each car I pass, every minute I stay awake gets me another minute of time to myself. I win when minutes become mine, not work's.That's all. That and porno time. Posted by editor on Jan. 18 2002,07:36
sleep may be when you recapitulate the day; try it!

I would just like to say, This is nonesense I did no work in highschool and got decent grades. With the slightest effort, I could have gotten A's in AP classes, too. I got an A in AP calc 1 doing nothing, and a B in AP calc 2 doing even less. Posted by editor on Jan. 19 2002,05:08
But;You aren't Rach. or anyone else but you... I took a few AP classes in HS and while I got A's in two of them, English and Math were just over my head and plainly not worth the effort. I had 3 part time jobs at the same time and I remember that I allowed myself 30 minutes before school to goof, and 30 at night when I would read in bed. When I was sick I went to school anyways, since I would never catch up on the homework. I remember one guy who would smoke a jay and go get an A on a trig test. I could not ever, and will never be able to do that! We're all different. Posted by Pickle Therapy Lady on Jan. 19 2002,05:43
Well, all you poor sleep depraved individuals who are still up in the weeeeeeeee hours of the day have me to keep you company for the most part. I don't get off WORK until 1am CST so my bedtime is most people's wake up time (roughly 6am). If you're bored, there's always AIM if sleep is impossible.

I finished work at midnight. Played medal of honor allied assault til just now (6:30am). I'd come say hello but I don't support AIM. I have all the other IM's tho... Posted by CatKnight on Jan. 21 2002,04:52

medal of honour looks really good but plays just as well as the playstation equivalent. the PSX version had good reason to be linear the pc version doesnt i'm as dissapointed with playing the demo as i was playing the new wolfenstein. it just doesnt have that openness where you can just fuck about and abuse the game engine to play the game the "Wrong" way. hidden and dangerous still rates as the best WW2 game for me. you cant beat shooting a german off his bike stealing it with your mate in the gunner seat and you running over pesky nazi's.from what i've seen they havent really added that much to a pretty overused formula. "but it's really cinematic" i here you say. yes for about 5 mins when heariong bulets ricochet past your head for the 15 millionth time starts to fade a bit. it had better have the missions where you can disguise as a journalist as that was one of the best parts of the psx versions...why? would you believe it because this was where you could fuck about doing stupid stuff and having FUN! i may have only played the demo but until the game comes out and i've played it (my rich bastard freind paying for it of course) i'm not really gonna be holding my breath. Well, that's a shame. It would take some convincing for me to go to the effort to pick up 1 of the other messengers. I actually started using AIM for work a few years ago (laziest way for us to communicate amongest ourselves) and just have WAY too many contacts through it that I've collected over time. Probably the only reason I've never bothered getting interested in any of the other IMs. I may consider looking into another 1 though if there are enough people here I'd actually talk to person to person who refuse to use AIM. I'll stop my babble now and ponder messengers before heading to the casinos. You just MAY convince me Incubus. MAY. Posted by Trog on Jan. 23 2002,09:56
< Trillian > is your friend - it manages ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, MSN IM and IRC all for you, and it imported my ICQ contact list flawlessly, so hopefully it'd do the same for AIM... T Posted by Pickle Therapy Lady on Jan. 23 2002,22:12
I've looked into Trillian a little. That's what I figured I'd end up installing if I do decide to start using other messengers. Thanks for the suggestion. The more input I get the more likely I am to decide. Posted by ic0n0 on Jan. 23 2002,22:48
I have used trillian for about a 6 months it rules!
