Not a lam0r, but a sheer dork.

It says so in your title.

MCSE, MCDBA, MCP+I, MCP

I'll be Win2k Upgraded by the end of March.

MCT by the end of June.

CCNA whenever I can get around to it.

Then I'll just maintain those, unless new ones come around.

college degree=not worth my time

BS: Computer Engineering (Milwaukee School of Engineering... ABET Accredited)

That's about it... You don't really need to get any certifications if you don't do IS work (which I do anyways, but I despise it). I want to go after a BA: Philosophy (but that would be a while off), an MBA, and a PhD: Computer Science. All pipedreams for a while, regretably.

certs appear to be a waste of my time. i can do the network stuff thanks to having opted to take telcomm grad courses (IS) as part of my CoE undergrad major (wonder if that says anything about how difficult a masters in IS really is), so i can do the shit, but am not limited to only microsoft, only novell, only cisco etc.

B.S. Computer Engineering University of Pittsburgh, ABET Accredited.

and someone out there is goin to pay through the nose for me to use it

Likewise. Did 3 yrs CS major, then got pneumonia and missed a semester. The INS said, "So sorry, but leave the US please and reapply to enter school again."
So I buggered off back to UK and I'm working just great thx.
My company's sending me on the CNA/E and MS courses next month.
The experience I have counts for more than the accreditations I see the other guys. Hell, a mate of mine only got to work on the Helldesk and he has Novell Master and MS Master creds.
I'm currently trying to instill ANY semblance of a security mindset in our company. Right now, for them, security means a warm blankie and a mug of cocoa.

I've got Grade 3 Saxophone. Will that do? Am I L33t now or must I bust m4d skillz at < www.the > fbi.com and deface < www.the > spice girls.co.uk.org.com first?

Can I get r00t now?
cheers

Thanks for the commiseration Sithiee. (Feel the love people!)

Reason is they send us kids back, is that we comply and let them know where we are, unlike the illegals.

Yeah I said 'buggered'. I can also say 'fuck off'. (Sorry, I just had to. It's that dry English humour in me. Or is that the indigestion?)

Funny side note. I got into the IT side of life cause at my interview for my first real support job at the uni (as a student) I saw the other guys playing Quake. I told em I could play it and I beat the dept supervisor. I think he hired me so he could get revenge. He didn't so I got to work there a few years. 3 years network support at a large uni looks good on a CV. Who says playing games can't earn you money?
