Have any of you been hearing about the foulup that the FBI did? I bet you anything McVeigh's lawers are going to try and get him off because of a technicality. He did it, he admitted to it, and he was ready for his punishment. Goddam mother fucking judicial system! How many fucking killers and rapists have been set free because of a technicality? How many people have to die before we say "hey, you did it, you admitted to it, now your going to pay for it even though some junior cop made a small mistake". Almost makes me want to relocate to Canada.

in d.c. once a guy was in a minor car accident and his trunk flew open. there were 20 assault rifles and 65 pounds of crack cocaine. unfortunately, the cop car directly behind him couldn't do anything about it because legally cops aren't allowed to search your trunk without a warrant.edit: oh yeah what happened was that the cop took him to jail but not only was he released, but the cops gave all the stuff back to him. < http://dailynews.yahoo.com/fc/US/Oklahoma_City_Bombing/ > Basically, Tim was supposed to be executed tonight, but the FBI brought in 3000 pages of undisclosed documentation on Saturday or Sunday or something. The execution has been postponed a month to review the evidence. Posted by TallAssAzn on May 16 2001,00:15
What can you expect? It's government work. Anybody with skill goes into the private sector, where they make a lot more money than they would with the gov't.------------------ Posted by justcozz on May 16 2001,00:56
they could of let him die then say oh yeah here's all the stuff we forgot to give you.

It's not just that they are postponing the execution, the lawers are calling for a new trial! They are going to try and get him off due to a technicality! This is just bullshit!

quote: No, demonk. They're not going to retry him. They're not going to get him off. There isn't one person in this country who wants him to be set free (default qualifier...). There were thousands (28?) of interviews, thousands of pages of information. 3000 pages of mostly irrelevant or redundant paperwork is not going to overturn anything. The prosecutors have to look over this information, however, to make sure there isn't anything that would cause a reason to postpone the execution, or more evidence that would help point to co-conspirators. It really isn't the end of the world. It probably wasn't good that the info was held this long, but it really isn't a breakdown of the American way. Posted by Chrissy on May 17 2001,05:54
The law is there to protect the people. Thats its main function. No system is 100\% perfect. He even said he wanted to die. I doubt there would be any judge that would release him based on evidence showing improper procedure. And personally I think it would be cool to work for the FBI. Its something Im serously considering when I get out of law school (cause after all you need a J.D to be a special agent)- but I dont know how much of a chance i have not having a military background. Besides I hear those background checks are killer. ------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on May 30 2001,19:19
Killing him would be too kind. Why not just leave him in jail in an 8'x10' cell with a bunch of large men named Bubba and no security guard?"Mr. McVeigh, in addition to your Ridiculous Prison Benefits Package of a golf course and free education, you're now getting online access to be connected to the web. You'll be able to hear "You've got male" every day! And for surfing The Internet, it's time to integrate Big Louie's Inmate Explorer into your system!" That's about right. Give that SOB what he deserves! ------------------ Posted by PersonGuy on May 31 2001,02:52
Under MY beleif system suffering doesn't really amount to anything ONCE you're dead. So from HIS perspective it doesn't really matter when he dies. I say we do the cost effective thing and kill him NOW. Sure he deserves to suffer, but NOT at MY expence.------------------ Posted by Frosty on May 31 2001,03:51
This is why the US Government needs a slower and more painful way of executing the extra special people like Timmy.edit -- oops This message has been edited by Frosty on May 31, 2001 at 10:51 PM Posted by demonk on May 31 2001,05:59
Ok, I'm bringing this thread back to life because of what I just read. McVeigh and his lawers are calling for another stay of execution so that they can have a hearing on the "fraud" that the FBI committed towards the courts. JUST FUCKING EXECUTE THE FUCKER! He did it, he admitted it, he deserves to die for crimes. There is no forgiving a person who nowingly put a big ass bomb in a building full of federal workers and a daycare center! The only purpose this will serve is to eat up more of our tax dollars to come up with the exact same decision that has been in place for months. They will strap him down and kill him much too humainly for his crimes. I'm just ticked at how lawers and other people can manipulate the system to get their way, even if their client is guilty. Ok, I'm coming down off my soapbox. I'm feeling better now. You many now return to your daily lives.
