Why am I awake...

Ive tried everything to put myself back to sleep. Gotta be up early- nothing is working- I got a new job. Not music, NOTHING! If I dont get to bed Im gonna be worthless in the morning- wait its already morning. OH what am I going to do.

This insomnia shit SUCKS. Ive used everything I can think of to go to sleep- nothing has worked. I dont want to be up for another 3 hours cause if that happens --ugh

Sorry for the over abundance of rants by yours truly lately but its been a stressful few weeks. I mean its also been really good but still stressful. :|
Ok Ill shut up now.

when your not trying to fall asleep is when you will fall asleep. if you try to stay awake mentally (i.e. not doing pushups or somethin) then your chances of falling asleep are greater. trust me, it always works for me in school and when im working on major projects the night before.

i've been having a similar problem. actually, more like hte opposite problem. i have been getting a good amount of sleep every night, i fall asleep fast and wake up at 6:45 easily (getting 6-8 hours of sleep daily), yet i still feel totally exhausted. the more sleep i get, the more tired i am. this is bullshit grr.

Dont think I didnt go the masturbation route cause I did. I tried relaxing each part of my body and music. NADA and- Im up again tonite. The real issue is that Im so tired I just cant sleep. I wake up 2 or 3 times at night--- this has been a serious issue for me since I was a sophomore in college- I just thought that me working would have cured this shit. Seeing as I have to be up at 630 everyday so I can drive in traffic.

Maybe Ive just had a lot on my mind lately. Everything is all screwy right now. :|

CK, perhaps you arent getting *good* sleep. Are you waking up in the middle of the night... It could also sleep apnea (snoring even) can seriously disturb sleep. If you arent reaching REM sleep at night it can cause you to be overly tired in the am.

Im like an anorexic except with sleep. What do I mean by that. Well its a pretty well known fact that anorexics (and bulmics also) are obsessed with food (their ability to control or not control it as it were)- I think thats the way I am with sleep. I know a lot about the subject because I cant have it. Maybe Im just scared to sleep alone again or something.

i have been getting deep sleep, i dont wake up at all and my body feels totally refreshed but it feels like my mind has been awake for months. i can't remember having a dream for that long either...

There has to be a way to solve both our problems here CK. I just dont know what it is. Perhaps you need to put a tape on or something- to clear your mind. This way when you awake you feel fresh or something.

Me, I think I just need sex...that and a job that wont kill me! And at this point I would just settle for the former.

This isn't as on-topic as it probably could be, but does anyone know who released the song "Insomniac?" The name Reverence comes to mind, but I'm not sure of that.

Im going to address this calmly- this is my thread and I take it seriously (ok not that seriously its just words after all) but honestly didnt your mother ever tell you if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all...
And as far as the caps are concerned it just makes it more difficult for the rest of us to read your posts. So if you wouldnt mind just toning it down a tad we may be able to read what you have to say without getting all in your face.

Now back OT! its almost 1am again- I have a killer headache and cant sleep again. Fuck that Im not even in my pajamas and I was up at 8am this morning for no apparent reason. My mind has been racing around for days about law school, relationships, why things are happening the way they are---and I just dont know any more. Im so exhusted but my eyes just wont shut! Suggestions would be helpful here!

the Zodiac killer was a serial killer from the 60's-70's who killed a little over 60 people (known, supposedly many more), and was never found. He used a sign similar to a cross with a circle around it. A majority of the discovered murders were women in their early to mid 20's, but since... 5 or so were men, they disproved his obsession as 20 year old females (personally, when I go on a killing spree, I toss in some people out of my norm just to confuse the cops, too).

Extremely interesting case, and if they didn't fuck up the story, it would make an AWSOME movie.

i know green day has a song called insomniac. it is on their album called insomniac

if you don't think your dad would mind, or if you already know, what was the guy's name? Me and friend have been doing a little research here and there, and we're gonna write a script for a documentry/film about the Zodiac Killer. If his case was one of the more odd/exciting/able to get a crowd to go "DAMNNN!!!", I'll fit it in. We're already planning so at the end we're going to try to have a picture of all the known victims and with a R.I.P. thing.

spend the day doing lots of strenuous activities that way you WILL fall aslep from exhaustion and after a couple of nights like this your sleep paterns will return to normal.

i had been insomniac for literally 6-8months from staying up too late then when i had 2 full days of hard work where i got up early and got home knackered i've found i dont have any more trouble sleeping. if you wear yourself out and this doesnt mean doing a bit of excercise your mind will switch off no matter how hard you try it not to
