School's do stupid things.

My little sister's vice principal was checking girls underware as they walked into the dance (this got national attention and even a spot on O'Reilly). But dumb things are the only things that make media attention, the news doesn't reallly comment on the other thousands of school districts.

VERY good point.  If this is the only place doing it out of the entire country, then I'm not worried.  The people in that district will take care of it since it is their problem.  Who knows, maybe they ever agree with it.  It's not my place to say how one person who doesn't effect me who lives far away should live their life.

that story smells awfully fishy to me...

Quote
"We had some children who were not playing 'it' appropriately," Franklin elementary principal Pat Samarge said, adding that "Little kids were coming in and saying, 'I don't like it.' Children weren't feeling good about it."

Translation: A few kids at the school made playing "Tag" mandatory.  The "risk of injury" was largest for the ones who didn't want to play.  Kids complained.  Teachers & the principal tried to put a stop to it the usual way.

It didn't stop.

The teachers knew who the perpetrators were, but the perpetrators were smart enough to not get caught... I mean, what's the administration gonna do to them?  Bust them for playing tag?

Yep.  Fuck you, you little shits.

Can you tell my mom was a teacher?  lol

is that your theory or are you a definitive source?

a bit of both.  i'm quite familiar with the way kids act, the way teachers respond, and the way columnists will happily disregard context if it means they can make up a good story and beat their deadline.

I seem to recall a story about a Calfornia school where the PE teachers weren't allowed to keep score in soccer.  Not only that, but i think they removed the goals as well.  Kind of an ironic/approproate statement...the removed the goals from the game.

idiots
