< Copyright vigilantes ride P2P shotgun >

The RIAA is at it again.  This time they want unlimited hax0ring p0w4rz to disrupt p2p networks.

When are they gonna get it?

They tried to stop tape recorders, but in the end tapes helped make them MORE money.

They tried to stop the VCR, but in the end videos helped them make MORE money.

P2P stands to do the EXACT SAME THING FOR THEM.

So what do you think their problem is?  Too much coke in the executive washroom?  What?
Posted by veistran on Jun. 28 2002,00:06
the problem is they're fucking retarded.
Posted by CatKnight on Jun. 28 2002,00:11
no they are just too conservative (NOT in the political sense). by that I mean they are slow to adapt to new markets and whine like little bitches.

do NOT post any correlation to the conservative party or misquote me or I will be very angry.
Posted by veistran on Jun. 28 2002,00:24
they're technophobes for sure... but they also think that they can take control of pop culture, rather than just exploit the hell out of it.
Posted by forumwhore on Jun. 28 2002,02:54
Well, I don't think they're doing a good job at either.

CK.  how did you become such a political person?

how come you're not a lawyer or politician?

which begs the question,
how did you end up
smacking atoms and gamma rays and all that?

I've always been into physics, since high school.

I got political when I got to campus and saw the rampant stupidity going about. I started reading some books and newsletters, joined CR, and here I am. Now I listen to < Quinn >, < Mike >, < O'Reilly >, and < Rush > daily.

What will you be doing in Physics in ten years?

In politics????

Quinn eh?

You know he used to be the morning show host for the Top 40 station in Pittsburgh before WRRK landed him to do their conservative morning show?

I listen to him every morning on my drive to work. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I shake my head, sometimes he pisses me off so much I'm yelling at him as I head down the highway.

However, no matter how bad he's pissed me off, he is no contest for his 'cohost' Rose. She manages to annoy the shit out of me at least three mornings out of five.

Rush???  You turn to Rush to combat stupidity? Rush is the biggest hypocrite wasting radio waves that could be used better by carrying dead air.  Though I'm a Republican and I support a lot of his viewpoints I think he is a horrible journalist and fails to argue any point on an educated level.  I used to watch his TV show every day during the years of 1992-1993 waiting for him to use the medium to promote Republican ideas instead of constantly poking fun of the Democratic party for things that were mostly unrelated to politics.  He had a segment once comparing pictures of Clinton with what appeared to be different colored hair and implied that he was deceiving America by going gray when talking to older groups and then dying the hair more brown when talking to younger groups  ...who the F cares??  Then he had photo montages of Clinton jogging and showed that he was actually gaining weight ...all at a time when Rush himself was enormous.  But Clinton's appearance somehow effects his political views??  And the did Clinton inhale thing ...please don't get me started on the days and days that were spent on this.  But the former harder drug habits of the Bush presidency?  I guess not inhaling pot once ruins you for office but doing coke daily doesn't.
So I tuned Rush out, but I'm sure he's still the same.
Let me take a few examples of how he presents today’s news from his web page:

The Sounds Of Liberalism (Bleep)
"that's why Rush rolled a clip of the idiot who started all of this, and then told him that if his daughter couldn't bear hearing about the generic concept of the Almighty.."
"...Their cynical recitation of the pledge, as lead by paid KKK recruiter and member Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), won't fool the American people.."

Here we see Rush interjecting his typical defamatory remarks about the people he is talking about

Straight Fruit
"...Who would even dream of noticing such a thing, much less asking the government to regulate it? Are you going to try to tell me that Euro-feminists were offended by too much curvature?.."
"..this is no doubt the result of European feminists who use these cucumbers and bananas for things."

Here we see Rush just speculating wildly about the origin of a law that he believes to be liberal in nature. This is some fine journalism

Dick Gets Caught Once Again
Our old buddy El Loco Poco Dico Gephardt went down and met with Enron people in Texas. I'm not sure if he's meeting with Playboy's Women of Enron, but that may come next.
Here we see Rush just try really really hard to link Playboy and Dick Gephardt ...even though there was absolutely no involvement by Playboy during this meeting.

So CK, should everybody present themselves like your boy Rush?  If that's the case I should refer to you as Pot Smokin' CK from now on just to lessen the public trust in you.  I mean, you did admit to smoking a joint on this board  ...I'm only stating stating the news every time I refer to you as Pot Smokin' CK

you know what sucks? having to decide between the lesser of two evils...a person that wants to steal your money, or a person that wants to tell you how to live your life.

and not knowing which one is lesser...

those two are the same person.

Least I'm not hanging on the words of entertainment personalities who spew one-sided slander to the masses who can't make a decision for themselves and want to be thought of as political.

Some times the Republicans are right ...sometimes it's the Democrats.  One day I hope to (deity of your choice) you can make a decision based on the facts presented and not just the position of the party you support.

Typical stubborn mentality.

sorry, but I only listen to talk radio for political news and differing view points. I get my ideas from my own head.

I expected more from you, Wiley. You've lowered yourself to DSL and even shifter's (syph0n's) level. It's a shame too, we could have had a nice discussion, but you gave up like the others and just let your personal bias rule your posts.

especially considering your age. I expected at least a little bit of maturity from you. oh well

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*sigh*

Oh, mercy!  Talk radio is the WORST place for political input, regardless of the political leanings of the speaker.

surely you jest bozeman! what better place could there be?  how could you seriously believe that talk radio is anything other than the most absolute version of truth available to man?  I'm dissapointed...

/me thinks for a second.  Realizes that for the sake of some, a qualifier is needed

Ah ...so how liberal feme-nazis prefer their fruit because Rush thinks the do things with it is political news to you?  And Rush presents differing viewpoints?  Do you actually listen to his show or just nod your head along with him?

And you let the Junior Republican Handbook rule your posts and can only reiterate what their position is on any topic.  You haven't yet learned that a discussion requires listening to another viewpoint.  But that's ok ...I never expected more from you.
