I'm thinking moderators need to PM the user when they put their moderator hats on, for rejecting a post in the politics forum, and tell why they put the mod hat on...

unfortunately, the moderator's control panel is flaky and makes it ridiculously hard to figure out who's posting what. We'll try to contact you, but we make no promises.for the record, though, only kuru and I can drop posts. catknight can only approve or leave them in the queue. So you have some assurance that if your post is dropped, it wasn't for political reasons, but because we felt it didn't belong in the politics forum.
I've only dropped one post, and I dropped it because it flamed the moderators and the idea of a moderated forum in general... that shit belongs in Rants or The Classroom, not the Politics forum.

first paragraph: We shouldn't be squeamish about setting up a new board, should we? We're going to get more users, and we might as well have a more stable forum. this forum has been around for how long, and how is it operating in this state?
Perhaps you and ed need to start work on a second instance of the forums, alongside this instance, and silently merge everyone over and then switch the forums at 2359 hours, so that noone knows the forums have been upgraded...
Of course, I can understand if you don't, I mean, hey, I'm lazy sometimes, too
on the second PG: that's comforting to know.
